Alaska vs. Tahiti vs. Hawaii, what do you think?

Ok, so FH and I are getting married in August at one of the heights of hurricane season. Also, Europe is pretty much on vacation, then, too. This leaves us with very few viable choices for our 10 day honeymoon, which we would like to cap at a certain cost since once we get married and finish school, we are going to be looking a houses (FH is an accountant, need I say more?) Tahiti looks and sounds wonderful, but we have a friend who was going to book her HM there and it was $15,000...certainly higher than we are budgeting...what do you girls think out of the three places to go for an HM..we are looking for relaxation, some cool things to do, dining, and relaxation..it has been a tough couple of years with school, work, and FH's brother being sick and passing, so we are desperately looking to some fun and hanging out and doing things we like to. i would chose hawaii but i've always wanted to go there. We are planning on going there the summer after our wedding. I saw someones pictures from their HM in Tahiti and it looked amazing. I didnt realize it was so expensive though so the cost is a factor. I think there are plenty of things to do in hawaii plus plenty of ways to relax there also. Good Luck!

we are going to Tahiti for 11 nights and we are paying alot less than that. You can definitely do Tahiti for less than 10,000. It all depends what hotel you stay at and what type of room. FM me if you want any information.

Well Hawaii sounds great, what about Europe? You do not have to worry about hurracaince season there.

I say tahiti...and just like the pp said, you can get packages for less than what your friends paid...I have a brochure with sooo many package options and there are even some that are $4000 each, and that also includes meals and activities.

FH and I went on an Alaskan cruise last July, and it was INCREDIBLE. The days topped out at around 50, but the sun didn't set until 11pm. We went hiking and saw glaciers and took tons of pictures... and had plenty of chances to curl up on a lounge chair wrapped in a big warm blanket Definitely look into Alaska .

I would do hawaii or tahiti

alaska though sounds nice but personally its just not for me - I LOOOVE the beach and sun but there are PLENTY of things to do in Alaska my friend just went there and they went kayaking, had a dog sled exercusion helicopter rides- a bunch of things .

Ill also recommend cruises if you want to take a look at them

The ones that leave from Tahiti seem to be reasonably cheaper than staying there - you may want to check that out

since we are in hurricane season as well- we were going to do the med cruise but that ended up being WAYY over budget so we are going for the southern carib cruise which goes to like aruba (under hurrciane belt) and a few other places in the caribbean.
This will be our 5th cruise because we love them so much- however they arent for everyone either! Good luck!!!

Thanks for the advice and thoughts, ladies...we are still deciding..FH is not convinced that the flight would be only 12 hours nonstop..ack!

Fh proposed in Hawaii last Jan...we stayed on the big island & there was sooo much to do! (pics in album)..but i never wanted to do the looong flight there...so we flew from a trip in Vegas...we might go to Alaska for our HM....

We have a friend who did an Alaskan cruise for their honeymoon and they loved it!

I think an Alaskan cruise would be a nice honeymoon! Plus with all the food included, its easier to stay in budget.

I do not know much about Alaska or Tahiti-except that some of the most beautiful women in the world come from Tahiti (lol), but you can definately get whjat your looking for in Hawaii. I only know since I researched it for our honeymoon.
