Albums

Ok so what does a post bound album mean? I am using CM strap hinge( I think) but I keep reading about post bound albums--

Why does everyone use them? pros and cons?

post bound is just the type of binding in the album but the pages are page protectors instead of the card stock weight of the CM books.

I use them because they are true 12x12. I always had to trim my layouts to put them into the cm books. I never planned to trim the pages when I first started so I ended up altering the layouts.

What companies make them? I am going to have to look in person because I don' t understand what you mean when you say the pages are page protectors

I don't really know any companies off the top of my head, but Michaels has them.

Oh I think I get it---the page protector is what attaches them to the page and then you slip your finished page in? is that right?

What I dont like about CM albums is how you have to take apart the hinges even to just put one page in---Is it easier with post bound or is there a process as well?

I am almost finished with my Wedding album--so I am going to need a new album to play with once I am done

DH asked me what was I going to do and I said well hopefully by then I will have a pregnancy album to do!!!

what I like about the post-bound is that you do not have to take the album apart to put a page in the protector. It slips in from the top...where as the CM type strap hinge albums you have to either do the album in order or take the pages out as you work!! A littel bit of a pain in the rear!!
