All Inclusive Honeymoon... how much cash?

FH and I have never traveled all inclusive before (we usually like to rent a car get off the resort and sample the local hangouts) but decided to try all inclusive for our honeymoon. Any idea how much cash we should bring for 11 days? We plan on doing 3 excursions but I think this can be charged to our room credit card so I am guessing we would just need cash for tips and shopping. Any thoughts?

At all inclusives you usually need to pay for the excursions up front. I always put them on a CC just Incase I need the cash I bring. I am also going for 11 days. We have the butler so ill prob bring more because we need to tip him big. Maybe $500?

Honestly you probably will still be going off the resort. i stayed all inclusive in Aruba and we left the resort about 3 times because we were bored w/ the stuff the resort had to do after the 4th day.
If you normally use credit cards, that is what I'd do. If not, I'd bring at least $500 cash.

I think it really depends on where you are going. Different destinations are way more expensive than others.

We did an all inclusive in Jamaica and left to go on a little tour of Montego Bay - we stopped at flea markets and bought some things but everything is super cheap there. We also left the resort to go to Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville - so if you think there may be a restaurant or two that you will want to check out, I would bring a little more.

Keep in mind that if you're going international (St. Lucia?) credit cards usually have an international surcharge, about 3%.... not all though. You can ask when you call to let them know you may use it out of the country.

Where are you going?

I would probably bring close to $1000. You never know when you might need cash.. especially if you leave the resort and maybe shop at the local places... some excursions are not through the hotel and cash is probably best!
