I dont think he is either only b/c it would be all over the soap opera tabloids. Edmund leaving would be a big deal. If it was like Reggie or Lena I could see it to be true, but Edmund leaving would be all over the place.
So I dont think he is.
But I think Maria lashes out on David and Brook b/c remember David is the reason why she lost her memory. So she may feel that David is going to be taking something else away from her.
