all waitresses should kiss my a$$...

because though i am college educated - i do suck @ math - so i somehow ended up leaving a 100% tip to the waitress @ lunch today.....

i am sure an extra plate of edamame will be on my table next time i eat there.....

take the numbers of the bill and multiple by two...that's a 20% tip

ie: $42 (4x2 = $8) - $8 tip

$112 ($10 x 2= $20) - $20 tip

I never thought of that!

I usually take the tax and double it and throw in a little more.

That can't be right...so for a $36 meal I should leave an $18 tip? That comes out to 50%...

I always multiply the tax x 2...

take total bill (before tax) move decimal over one place and multiply by 2:

154.00 ---> 15.4 x 2 = 30.80 is a 20% tip

Or take tax and multiply by 2 to get appx 17%

If I did 3.6 x 2 then that'd be correct...I'd rather do the double tax and add some...

the waitress actually follwed me into D&D a few doors down - and said this is the cost and pointed to the bill - and i said - yeah the rest is for you. she said ty and left and little ayesha was like - what was that about? mind you....ayesha got her undergrad in math... i should've let her do the bill!

i felt like a total dope....

I usually hand the bill to someone else to figure out the tip.

I'll double the tax if need be. Then depending on the service if I want to round it up or down.

nope- you take the $38 - round to $40 and multiply the first number (4) by 2, and you get an $8 tip.
