Allegria Brides Be Warned from a former Atlantica Bride

So it's been 2 and half months since we were informed that Atlanitca of West Hampton lost it's least and had to close and we are STILL WAITING for our $12,000 deposit. After calling pretty much daily and getting our calls avioded we finally got a call from Chef Todd Jacobs who was the owner of Atlantica and is the owner of the wedding hall at Allegria he said he is filling for bankruptcy and his house is forclosed and right now cannot give us our deposit back.

So just warning you future brides at Allegria that place might be closing too because the man has NO MONEY left and owes many many couples money. Where the money went who knows it's just very frustrating $12,000 is no a small amount of money!! Unfortunately we're going to have to go to the next level and take legal action to get our money back. This is really upsetting and adds a lot of stress to the wedding planning!!

I hope Allegria brides don't have to go through all this but I just wanted to put the warning out there! Chef Todd Jacobs is in serious debt. So if you were thinking of going there but haven't booked yet I would say look into other places cause who knows how long that place is going to be around.

Any former Atlantica brides get there money back???

Former Atlantica Bride to be here.... only reason we got our deposit back is because my parents put $5,000 deposit on their credit card... after MANY attempts of calling Atlantica, leaving voicemails, then the answering machine was full... and never getting ahold of ANYONE... my parents took it the next step and called the credit card company and charged back the amount.

Chase credited my parents and now they (Chase) are now 'chasing' (sorry for the pun) Todd and anyone else at Atlantica / Allegria to get the money back.

I am so sorry that you are having such a rough time getting your money back.. I am still so livid and PO at them for shutting their doors.

If you paid on a CC - charge it back. If you paid cash or check you will have a harder time getting your money back - but FIGHT everyway you can.

yea unfortunately it was paid by check. But we're fighting our hardest to get our money back!!

If you're ready to pull the plug on starting legal action, I'd do it sooner rather than later. I would imagine that there are other creditors out there.

usually the first to really go after it is the first to get the money back.

WOW 12,000 is A LOT to lose! ihope you get it back. I'M SOOO SORRY about all this!! How terrible! NO ONE deserves this crap!!!

speak to an attorney and take legal action. i would not wait though. good luck. i am so sorry you are going through this. that is horrible!

Im not booked with either places but i'm so sorry to hear about this concerning the reception halls!! I would go through all possible legal actions to get every cent back.

That is TERRIBLE! Atlantica had such a name for itself.. As did Todd Jacobs! I live locally, in Westhampton Beach. I would write to the Southampton Press, get it out there what he's doing as well as contact an attorney as SOON as possible. If he's filed for bankruptcy or planning to do so, you dont want your debt discharged with everyone else.

Did you try to call the Bath & Tennis where he rented the space from? Maybe there is something they can do as his name was attached to their facility?

Be persistant.. Call daily & you will get your money back!! Contact the better business bureau, I'd even try talking to the bank!
