Allegria Hotel - New Chef
I'm looking to see if there are any couples out there that have had a wedding at the Allegria Hotel with the new Chef. Chef Todd Jacobs left the venue and we loved his menu & food. We are scheduled for our wedding in September at Allegria but were very unhappy with the recent change of chef. Can anyone give us some advice? or some reviews on venues with their new chef?

When did they get the new chef? I was there for my friends wedding about 2 years ago, the food was good!

We stayed 2 nights at the Allegria Hotel for our wedding weekend. The night before the wedding we had dinner at Atlantica Restaurant there and we really enjoyed it. We each had an appetizer, entree and dessert and liked every single thing although the portions were small, even for a nice resaurant. Why don't you go to the restaurant for dinner to get an idea of how the new chef is?

Re: Allegria Hotel - New Chef
The new chef came in January but we just found out this week because the previous coordinator was not returning out calls or emails. When we finally got through to the sales office, we were told they are no longer there. We were frustrated that no one told us, especially since our wedding is in September. We had dinner there on Saturday night and were heartbroken. The service was horrible and I would have rather had dinner at Outback because the food was that bad. We are supposed to go meet the new coordinator on Saturday to talk and do a tasting.
Also, they only have one single bathroom near the ballroom. The only other bathrooms are downstairs in the lobby. Not that convenient for a large party in the ballroom.
At this point I think we want a new beach venue, but our wedding date is booked already at most places. Has anyone ever done a Friday wedding or been to one? That may be our only option.
What are your opinions in getting our money back since they changed the chef and never told us?

Try Bridgeview yacht club. They are a few blocks away from the Allegra and I had my wedding there on a Friday night and it was amazing. I highly recommend them!!

Sorry your dealing with this... We are doing our wedding on a Friday night and basically because the cost was substantially less. In talking with most of my family and FH's family, nobody minded that it will be on a Friday.. We are starting our ceremony at 6:30 so that gives people time to get home from work and head to the ceremony and a lot of people if they have the option will work a half day or even take off. Good luck!Welcome New Vendors
