Almost passed out during the ceremony!

Original post by Suzannebride

Holy cow ladies, PLEASE provide lots of air conditioning and cold water for your bridesmaids. I was in a wedding yesterday wearing a floor length lined dress (read HOT) we all got the brides house and they didn't have any AC on so we were all dripping with sweat which was lovely. The limo wasn't really cold enought to make up for the house, but the chapel was hot. Halfway through the ceremony I was like oh no...I'm not breathing right. So I was trying to slow down my breaths and everything started turning dark and I was trying to look around to see if there was somewhere to sit but I didn't want to ruin the ceremony and they were in the middle of exchanging the rings! I felt my knees buckle and everything went black for a second but I am so proud of myself for not falling down. The rest of the ceremony felt sooooooo slow and after we rushed out I went into the room we were waiting in before and the custodian guy told me they shut off the AC at 4...um the ceremony was at 4! No wonder! The maid of honor said she felt a little faint too and the flower girl said she was breathing funny. I guess it would have made for some good video if all three of us passed out! This made me decide to definitely get tea length dresses for my maids and make sure we have the AC cranked up everywhere! Sorry for the long post.

that is horrible.

how did your make-up stay on??? and you had to be sweating like a pig - it was 1,000 degrees yesterday!! no AC!! i can't even believe it!

You know, my makeup was fine! That's weird! I could feel sweat all over my arms, back and legs, though. I did use the tissue I brought for tears to mop my forehead and hands, though.

I did my own makeup and think it stayed on. I wasn't wearing too much though I guess.

That's horrible. Yes, FH and I def. did not want a summer wedding because of that. It should be nice and cool in May.

That's horrible. But if you were so faint, imagine how the bride felt!!!

The bride looked fine actually. I am guessing she is just used to no air conditioning since we were at her house without the AC.
