Holy cow ladies, PLEASE provide lots of air conditioning and cold water for your bridesmaids. I was in a wedding yesterday wearing a floor length lined dress (read HOT) we all got the brides house and they didn't have any AC on so we were all dripping with sweat which was lovely. The limo wasn't really cold enought to make up for the house, but the chapel was hot. Halfway through the ceremony I was like oh no...I'm not breathing right. So I was trying to slow down my breaths and everything started turning dark and I was trying to look around to see if there was somewhere to sit but I didn't want to ruin the ceremony and they were in the middle of exchanging the rings! I felt my knees buckle and everything went black for a second but I am so proud of myself for not falling down. The rest of the ceremony felt sooooooo slow and after we rushed out I went into the room we were waiting in before and the custodian guy told me they shut off the AC at 4...um the ceremony was at 4! No wonder! The maid of honor said she felt a little faint too and the flower girl said she was breathing funny. I guess it would have made for some good video if all three of us passed out! This made me decide to definitely get tea length dresses for my maids and make sure we have the AC cranked up everywhere! Sorry for the long post.

This was why it was easy to sell a winter wedding to my mom. She is terrifed of an AC conking out on her.

oh no! Wow, thanks, this is some good advice and now I will make sure to have some water for the girls! Glad everything is ok with you, i have passed out before from dehydration and it is a very sickening feeling!

OMG u are so not alone, my aunt got married this memorial day weekend at a hotel in virgina, and it was at least 90 degrees, and it had no ac going at all, the ceremony felt like it wasn't going to end, it was so crazy, u couldn't tell if the groom was sweating or crying

Omg, I'm glad you're ok now!! So sorry you almost passed out!!! I'll def make sure to have the AC going. Hopefully next year won't be as hot as it is this year!!

Thank you! I think it's so funny that all that kept running through my head was like they are videotaping this, don't mess it up! I wonder if I would have tried to remain standing the whole time if I wasn't a bride to be!

another reason we chose March, sure it could be a blizzard, but hopefully, but prob. not, my guests won't sweat!!!

I went to a wedding in an old Cathedral in August 2 years ago. FULL 45 minute Mass and it was HOT, HUMID & HORRIBLE in that church!! No a/c whatsoever.
No one paid attention because everyone was to busy fanning themselves. It is sad, the ceremony is the most important part of any wedding.
That disastrous wedding is a contributing factor to our Fall wedding.

that is horrible.
how did your make-up stay on??? and you had to be sweating like a pig - it was 1,000 degrees yesterday!! no AC!! i can't even believe it!
