ok, so yesterday I did OK. Not great, but OK. I didn't snack, and I ate leftover chicken, veg and plantains (not that good for me... unless you take emotions into account ) and then my take on fajitas (minus the tortillas... which then makes dinner my carb-free meal.
no exercise for me yesterday. I had to return to the lab at 11pm to complete an experiment, and didn't finish it until 2:30AM.
but tonight is exercise night!
how are you doing?

as the FW of a biochemist, is it really true that you guys have to go in at all ridiculous hours?!?! i always give FH crap because I think he's overworking and doesn't really NEED to go in at ridiculous hours. but do you guys all really do that?!
i guess i should say that i have done crappy the past two days - eaten a lot, basically and with a baseball game tonight, it's not looking any better! oh well, i'll jump back on next week!

all medical research is extremely cut-throat. we're underpaid, overambitious, and are merely happy to have the 'privilege' of working odd hours and playing in the lab. working 8-6 M-F is the fast track to unemployment in our field. Think it's bad now, just wait until he writes a grant . I'm happy to say my lab is set for the next 4+ years. I have garanteed funding. But, that's unusual, and grant time is , especially since the grand ol' party never took a liking to funding research. Only the top 7% of applications get funded these days. 10 years ago, it was the top 18%... I can only pray it improves now that the tide has changed in congress, otherwise, I know my luck will run out someday....
