book photographers and videographers from separate locations. Is there a reason for this? Was their combined package not a deal? I thought it would be easier to get the photog and videog from the same people. What are your thought?

I wouldn't ask my photographer to do my flowers, so why ask him to do my video? photography and videography are two different mediums. they are not the same thing at all.
I wanted a certain photographer and a certain videographer to do my wedding and it worked out great. I found most of the videos that came with the photo pkgs were not as high quality either. Price was not the issue.

I just wanted to choose my own fate(s) & not use someone that was part of a package - I wanted to hand pick our vendors individually. They are definitely different art forms. Also I found that most companies that offer both have limitations on their services.

Teachertime - wish I'd read your advice BEFORE I booked a $3k videographer! Makes a lot of sense!
