Alright ladies.......I've reached that turning point......and a HUGE check!!!!!!
Original post by Soon2BMrsErichsen
I have officially made a decision!!!!!!!! I realized that some of my 'commitment' issues stemmed from not falling head over heals for any venue as of yet, and it started to be rather discouraging......UNTIL......I met with Loula at the Sand Castle last night and OMG OMG OMG!!! Not only am I in love with that woman but the venue is EVERYTHING we've been looking for and a whole lot more!
Needless to say.....we're going back on Saturday to BOOK!!!!! I'm gonna have a GINORMOUS check in less than a week!
I can't say enough about the Sand Castle and Loula. She is absolutely amazing and I have no doubt that our wedding is in good hands and we are now on the right track.
I'm getting married! I'm getting married!

Oh and we're doing the ceremony on site too and my mom is NOT happy about it but FH is not Catholic. I'm sure I will be ranting about it on here in tears eventually because I'm already almost at my breaking point.
WOO HOO!!!!!!! Yay! I have a venue twin!!! Is she not incredible??? I'm so excited about this whole experience now...I was getting a bit blah for a while there.
On the subject of ceremony....we're both Catholic (non practicing) and neither are his parents...however I'm messing with tradition at this point..... 1. Both his older sisters and all 6 of their kids along with his bother and him have been baptized, 1st communion and confirmations at this church. (Same priest too) 2. Both sister were married here (same priest) Brother not married yet. 3.Both him and his brother were alter boys for the priest. 4. All four kids went from K-8 grade at the school here.
Now, based on all the above.....you think it's a battle even worth fighting? We REALLY dont want to be married in church. We rather at location simply for convenience as well as more our style.
Side note....are you doing their tree centerpieces? I thought they were lovely....

Well... I'm not letting my mom win, but that's just me. In the Brides Helping Brides Section there are two regret threads going where newlyweds post regrets and a lot of them are that they didn't do what they wanted so they could make other people happy. I really don't want to be on here in a year and a half posting the same thing! That's just how I feel. Everyone in my family has gotten married at St. Mary Gate of Heaven Church (with a bad divorce rate may I add ) and she is taking it hard but how many times are you going to have a day like this? I want it to be perfect for ME.
FH loves the tree CPs and I like them too and probably would have used them if I was getting married in fall or winter but I don't think they will look right in March.

You are so right about the the regret thing! Maybe I should be a little more vocal and bold on this subject. To be honest though, I'm a pansy when it comes to my FMIL....she's a tough cookie.
I think we may use the CP's, however we may decide to do our own flower balls in place of the silk ones they have....not sure yet...but they are gorgeous!
