Alt to Garter/Bouquet Toss

My mother saw this great idea at a wedding, and I am trying to figure out how to pul it off. Instead of garter/bouquet toss, all married couples were asked to the dance foor. Then the DJ/band asks anyone who has been married for less than 5yrs to sit, then for 10yrs to sit, 15, 25, 40, 50 yrs. The one married the longest gets the Bouquet. I thought it was a thoughtful touch. Still in the works about final detailing. Any song suggestions

we are doing this too, it has a few names, we call it the 'anniversary dance'. we are using 'still the one' by shania twain. ~lacey

I've been to a couple of weddings where they do this. It's really nice!

If I didn't already know which couple that is attending my wedding was married the longest the anniversary dance would be on my list of things to include at the reception. But I do, and I'm not really too fond of them, so I'm not!

i know someone who did that....i thought it was real cute!!
we may do that...but i do want to do the toss...so maybe give the winnter a gift?!

I just did this at my wedding 2 weeks ago. We knew my grandparents would win, they will make 50 years in December, so it was awesome!

My grandmother cried and I gave her my throwaway bouquet. They danced to 'Chances Are' by Johnny Mathis (they are big fans). Good Luck!

We did this at our wedding instead of the bouquet/garter toss. I still had a toss bouquet made to give to the couple with the longest marriage. The song was 'Come Away With Me' by Norah Jones.
