I bought my dress on netbride.com and just went to have it altered this morning at a local bridal shop. The quote is $200 for cups to be sewn in, the hem cut and sewn and to be steam pressed. Is $200 about right. I would assume it would have been cheaper if I had purchased the dress at the shop, but got a good deal online. I saved about $150 on the dress price.

I paid $130 for the hem and for taking in around the waist and bust areas.

Re: Alteration Cost
i know, it seems high but i think that is about right. when i was shopping for my dress, i remember bridal shops capped thier alterations anywhere from $150-300 and i don't think that included the bustle so it sounds like you did well! Hope that helps.

That price seems to be in the ballpark.

Re: Alteration Cost
that price seems about right, I haven't actually brought my dress in yet (I got it at Davids Bridal) but I have asked around at a few places and the average is a CAP of $200
