I need to get alterations done for my BM dress for my brother's wedding. They live in Delaware, so I need to get the alterations done in NY. Do you think the salon where I am getting my dress and BM's alterations would do it for me??? Do salon's do alterations on dresses that weren't purchased there???

Being that you bought your dress and your BM dresses there I'm sure they'll do it for you. I mean, they're still going to charge you for the alterations so I don't see why they wouldn't, it's not like they're losing out on anything.

A lot of places usually don't do alterations on a dress that wasn't purchased from there but I'd definitely ask the place where you got your dresses from!
In the past I've gone to the dry cleaner for alterations for OOT weddings. They did a nice job with the dress they were given (the dress left something to be desired).

she's at a new location now in Dix Hills w/ a new store name, but if you do a search you can find her.

I think a lot of salons don't typically do alterations on a dress you didn't buy there, but seeing as you are giving them a lot of other business I would give it a shot!
If not, try to find a good tailor or dry cleaner who also does alterations.

if you're anywhere near Franklin Square, the shop that's doing the alterations for my BM dresses is awesome! it's owned by 2 italian ladies who really know their sh1t! i got my BM dreses from David's and heard some horror stories about their alterations dept. so i asked around and was referred to them....Moda Alterations 516.616.7010. very reasonably priced too!
