I was refered by a bride on here to a lady named Anna (she's so sweet). It's $150 which includes a French bustle, hem and let out. She does alterations for Macy's and also works out of her house. She lives in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn if anyone's interested.

Re: Alteration prices!
Hi Lisa,
Just wondering if you were sure about that cap of $250 for WSM. I was just there today and am deciding b/twn 2 different gowns. I thought that back on my first appointment they had told me that alterations here were around what you said. When inquiring today, though, I was told alterations were $350 and bustle a MINIMUM of $150 (more if you need a more elaborate bustle ) for a whopping $500. I seem to remember even Kleinfeld's maxing out at $400 and was just wondering if I was getting hosed b/c I was getting a good deal on a sample gown they have to sell so they'd make up some in the alterations. Anyway, if you could FM me I'd really appreciate it. TIA

Re: Alteration prices!
i'm going to a little old italian lady on Main Street in Kings PArk. I believe her name is ROsa. SHe has her own shop there and has been there for years so she knows what she's doing. She's only charging me $90 and I need the dress taken in, fake boobs put in, and some beads replaced. (I got my dress at the Bridal Garden in the city and they have designer gowns discounted because they are last season or they've been worn before. Mine happened to be missing some beads so I got a great discount on it.) Plus, when I was trying it on, I got the train caught in the dressing room door and I accidently ripped off some of the beads. I think $90.00 is a great price for everything that she'll be doing.

A+++++++Tracy06 renates in lindenhurst
They are great. The owner Donna is wonderful. And Ghee Ghee the seamstress is amazing. All the girls there are so nice. I love the work they did for me and the three weddings that I have been in. They are even altering my dress and I didn't even get it from them.

Am I the only one who is paying over $400 for alterations?! My dress practically fit, too! How much did you have to pay if you don't mind me asking?
YEP, mine came to about $500 and all I needed was a hem and bustle plus I had a custom strap made for it! I should have taken it out of the shop but the strap was perfect and so worth it! (part of that price included the hemming of my slip too)
