Alterationist ruined my Grandma's dress!!!!

My Mom called me today to tell me she took my Grandma to pick up her dress from the store she bought it at (Von Maur) The alteration department totally screwed up the dress!!! On the hem she cut the lining under the lace part way too short!!! So when my Gram put on the dress you could see her legs through the lace!!! My Mom said she let them have it and the manager came out. She offered to get her a new dress but that one had been discontinued and there wasn't anything else my Gram liked. She LOVED this dress!!! So the manager agreed to totally redo the dress. She is personally going to rip out all the lining and sew in a new one!!!! It is supposed to be done by friday!!!! Keep your fingers crossed!!!! My wedding is in 11 days!!!!

OMG! I would be soooo pi$$ed! I'm glad your mom was able to get them to agree to fix it !

I'm sure everything will turn our beautifully for your Gram when they are done.

Trust me, I totally understand. I have gone through MAJOR problems with a seamstress. It is so infuriating! I'm so sorry this happened!

OMG! i am glad she is willing to try and fix it - i can't believe they could screw that up so badly!! i hope it all works out

OMG when I read the post I assumed you wer wearing your grandmother's wedding dress and that they ruined that!! I am sure the mngr will fix the dress and it will all be fine, just last minute that is all! It'll be fixed!!!
