Alterations

Are you girls planning on getting alterations done at your bridal salon??

I dont want to, I've heard nothing but negative reviews about their alterations department.

I'm definitely not looking forward to the akward conversation i have to have about it.

I haven't decided they told me they don't cap alterations and didn't have a price list so I could at least get an idea....

what salon did you get your gown from?

Re: Alterations

I'm going back and forth, I only need a hem and the straps pulled up, but I really don't want them to mess it up. But they also don't cap alterations.
If you need a seamstress, let me know. We used one in Oceanside for my sisters wedding who was a doll! And did a really great job!

I am using a friend's seamstress... she is a stylist for Ford so I'm excited about that... hopefully she gives me the FRIEND discount...

Re: Alterations

i paid about $325 for alterations (that was my cap - it was supposed to be more than taht) and $85 for my bustle. and that was just taking it in a little and hemming it.

alterations are insanely expensive ... it's ridiculous.

I'm getting it done at my salon. I haven't heard glowing things about their alterations, but I'm VERY firm and am not the type to be talked out of something. I think I can handle them.

Re: Alterations

I am planning on having the alterations done at my bridal salon. Haven't heard anything bad about their alterations dept. and I'd rather have everything done at the one place then have to find an outside vendor for alterations.

I;m not sure what I'll do yet. I was going to have it done there, but the salon is also far from me...first my dress has to come in lol, then I;ll worry about it.

At the bridal salon. My grandma paid for my dress and wants to pay for the alterations as well. She won't hear of me taking it any place else.
