Can someone tell me how this works? Do most BM dresses NEED to be altered after they've been ordered? If the BM has the same measurements she did when she oredered the dress for example--is it just altering the length? Also, how long do alterations usually take (we'd be having them done at Wedding Salon if that matters)? Thanks!!

For every wedding I have been in, I have had to get the BM dress altered...definitely the length, but I've also had to get it taken in, as the dress is usually ordered a little big (b/c it's easier to take in than take out!). For me it's always been one appt to do the alterations, and then one to pick up the dress a week or 2 later.

Depends on your BMs. One of mine (cousin) fits into everything, including the length () almost always so she's super lucky.
Then there's me - they never make the BM dresses in the smallest sizes so I usually wind up having to get the entire dress remade
So, basically my answer is that there is no one answer. Glad I could be of such help

it depends on yoru time frame - my bridesmaids are getting theirs done at teh wedding salon - and yes they usually do need altering - two of my girls are going this week ( a month before my wedding - although it is cutting it close)
