Im getting my alterations done by Phyllis at Bridal Elegance. The top part of my dress is too big on me and bunches up and wrinkles. Phyllis told me she would add boning to the side and front seams to get rid of that. When I went for my 2nd fitting on Saturday, the boning had not yet been put on. Actually, all that was done was the hem. She did my bustle while I was wearing the dress. Phyllis made an appointment for me to come pick up the dress on 7/7/07, 1 week before my wedding on 7/15/07. Now Im nervous about having to wait until 7/7 to try on the dress with the boning and to make sure that the top part fits me better and does not sag and bunch up. My question is, do you think 1 week is ample time for her to alter my dress if the top part is still too big and does not like right? Or should I call and make an earlier appointment? I just don’t want to wait till the last minute and only have a 7 day buffer zone in case the dress does not fit right. Am I just being neurotic?

I think you will be fine. Im getting married 6 days after you and I have not even started anything with my dress also and she is also doing my alterations.

No, you are not being neurotic. Call and see if the dress can be ready earlier.
My wedding is on October 27th, but I told the bridal salon it is October 20th. My MOH did the same thing. I would rather have the dress hang in my house for an extra week than to worry that it was not ready in time.

I would call her & tell her what your concerned about & if 1 week is enough time for her to make additional alterations. I have an appt. with her in 2 weeks. I've only heard really good things about her, I wouldn't worry too much.

You should be fine. I'm gettting married 7-8 and I'm picking up my dress on 7-1 only for the bustle!!!! Imagine that!

i think you'll be okay. keep in mind, that while phyllis is the face of bridal elegance, she does have workers that help out in the alterations....(they are behind the scenes)....so it's not like phyllis is doing it all herself, she has help and can get it done.
trust me, i had the same concern as you--and she did everything perfectly for my dress!

There is plenty of time before July for her to fix your dress so I don't see why you have to wait until then to try it again. I would make a sooner appointment.

I think that is plenty of time - If she has to work overnight the day before the wedding - I am sure she will get it done!
BTW - you are my date twin and I am picking up my dress on 7/7 too!
