Please consider when trying to find a place to bring your dress. I went based on the rave reviews. Brought my dress to Gina on Monday and just picked it up. Just wanted to say this b/c I no other review that I read mentioned it- when you walk in you might think that it doesn't look like the nicest place to get your dress done but these ladies are all about doing quality work and making the bride happy. Very happy I chose Gina!

She's in Deer Park. Right down the road from the Tanger Outlets.

Alterations Unlimited

Really old school/cramped building and my mom thought the 'changing room' was a closet. The other room is a toilet so my mom didn't want to go anywhere near it and practically changed out in front of everyone in the main room! Luckily it was all girls there.

160-ish for mother of the bride dress alterations if I remember correctly. I think it started at 140, then there was a little charge here or there for snaps for her little jacket thing and I dont know what else. I think I could have gotten cheaper elsewhere, but in nassau county.

I saw they had two wedding dresses when I went in there. A little freaky because someone could just touch the dresses if they arent covered up. She didn't give us the excess fabric off my mother's dress even though we requested and it was written on the ticket.

Gina's a nice lady. Mom felt comfortable with her. The dress was late two days though, (that was annoying as my mom gave her an extra day, my aunt went with my mom and they had to ask what color the dress was, not look it up by ticket, and it wasn't even touched yet), but then again it was prom season. They got it the following day.

I'd probably go back there again because I really don't know another alterations person around the area and she's convenient.

Mom's dress fit here really well afterwards. Definitely not as intricate in pinning as when I had my wedding gown altered at the bridal salon. Also, I almost freaked out when she came with a huge pair of sheers and free handedly cut the lining of my mom's dress. Sooo jaggedy looking. She pinned the bottom nicely though, but sooo soo quickly. She just tightened the dress by pinning the back by the zipper together instead of at the side seams.

I would trust her with a dress again as it ended up fitting my mom nicely. I don't know about a wedding dress but a dress, yes. She and her staff are very confident in their work so if I didn't like my salon seamstress so much, I might consider her for my wedding gown. Luckily I won't have to worry about that anymore!

Good luck!

I actually had a terrible experience there very recently. I found Gina to be incredibly rude and hasty, not to mention overpriced. But i found a seamstress that was AWESOME and much less expensive. FM me for more info.
