at the place i bought my dress...the reason why is bc at the place you buy your dress they cap the alterations so no matter how much is being done they can't go past the cap amount. Other places they'll charge for every little thing being done and wedding dress alterations can cost alot. One girl on here had brought it somewhere else and they were asking for $900 or maybe even more ...so be careful if you bring it elsewhere

I bought my dress at a sample sale so I can't get the alterations done there. Well, I can, but it wouldn't make sense money-wise. So I'm going to a private seamstress that was recommended on this board.

My seamstress is this little old Italian woman who actually works for Bridal Reflections in Massapequa, but I go to her house in Wantagh. FM me if you want her #- she's GREAT.

I'm a 5th grade teacher and I have ELA on the brain. When I 1st looked at this thread I thought it said ALLITERATIONS!!!!!!!!!

I read your previous post about Macy's and I responded there. The woman at Macy's is incredible. Plus, they are not expensive either since the price is capped.

im torn BC if you get it done at the Bridal shop and they mess up, at least they can order u a new one. But i think a private shop might do a better job. just my opinion,

Good question - not sure where to get the alterations done. Can anyone tell me a ballpark # of what they are paying, or what is normal (if there is a normal range??)
