I have seen a few ideas for memory or scrap guest books instead of the traditional guest book.
The ideas I have found include taking the pictures with a polariod (seems like a lot of work) to putting a wishing well bowl on the guest book table for people to put their wishes in.
Is anyone doing this? How are you doing it? THANKS.

Re: Alternative to 'guest book'
I am not doing a guest book. I am just putting those throw away cameras on every table for the guests to take photos of themselves and of us.

Re: Alternative to 'guest book'
We are using Mad moon Creations to help us use our guest book in a different way. The book is ribbon bound w/ pressed flowers on the cover, inside will be a black and white picture of us the night we got engaged w/ our wedding date. The pages will have space for our guests to write a message to us. It says 'Thoughts and wishes from fanily and freinds'. You can check them out at: www.madmooncreations.com Continued success to all...

Re: Alternative to 'guest book'
I bought a generic guest book that matches our placecard, napkin, matches etc. design. Inside, on the left hand pages, I glued the fronts of all of the engagement cards we had received - to personalize it a little.

Re: Alternative to 'guest book'
Because I didn't want the long line near the placecard table for people signing my guest book. In my package from my photographer I have included a photo guest book (about 10 pictures). This is simular to a engagement album except, that we are using it as a guest book. The pictures will be taken a month befor the big day. I have assigned each bridemaids a table to ensure everyone at each table signs the book.

Re: Alternative to 'guest book'
We are using 4/ 5x7 pix from our engagement sitting, we had them mounted at Michaels and framed. Our guests will be able to sign their well wishes to us around the pix. After it is all filled in at the end of the night we will take it back to Michaels and have them put the glass over it, and we will be able to hang it in our home.
Happy planning

Re: Alternative to 'guest book'
We are using a memory quilt. The center will have our names and date embroidered on it, and the guests will sign on the patches around it. The quilt itself will be quilted after the wedding.
If anyone is interested I can scan a picture and post it.

JENG that sounds so nice-- are you getting made somewhere or are you doing it yourself.
I put an insert in my invitation asking guests to bring a photo of themselves with the bride and/or groom. I will leave sticking tape by the guest book for them to do this...If they forgot I will leave a poloroid there for them as well...

Re: dcbride
Some friends of mine helped me to put the top of the quilt together, and I will quilt it after the wedding myself. It's a simple pattern, and the top can be put together by machine, which saves a ton of time. And if you don't know how to quilt yourself, some quilt shops will machine quilt it for you.
