I am thinking about trying to use as little flowers as possible in my wedding. Nothing against them I am just not a big flowery person. I want to use flowers just not a lot. For example in my center peices I would like my candles in tall hurricanes and a low flower arrangements so that the candels stand out more. Bouquets I would like either a single flower or another small number of flowers to make a small boK, maybe a flower/feather mixture or no flowers at all. Is there a florist out there that can help me with my minimal floral vision??? To help further explain my style I would say its modern/NY city chic. I still love wow factor just don't want the same ol' same ol'... So again Florist suggestions Please???

Re: Alternative to Traditional Bouquets
I am thinking the same thing for my boquet. This iswhat i am thinking of doing They are arm boquets
I've seen pics of the bm's walking down with only one flower....I think the one flower that really stands out is a long stem cala lily...those look beautiful and one is just enough.

Most florists should be able to do this. Just give them a call and see if they are willing to do it for you, if they are make an appointment to go in and see some of their work. Try Flower Barn if you want something in Nassau county, he does great work and is really willing to make the bride happy!!

I walked down the aisle with a single rose -- pics in wedding albums (both pro and non-pro). The bridal party also carried a single rose. Moms got corsages for the wrist, and all guys got a single rose as a bout.

i have also seen long stemmed calla lilly bo-ks...you could have only 1 or 2 calla lillies and it would look really elegant.
here's an example but this one has more calla lillies:

Re: Alternative to Traditional Bouquets
I have seen bouquets made out of beads, buttons, feathers, and actually saw a boutonniere made out of old computer parts for the really techy guy.
If you can't find a florist to work with you on the bouquets, I would check on Etsy, I have seen some interesting types of bouquets on there (thats where I saw the buttons and feathers)

I'm also looking to use as few cut flowers as possible, but more for enviornmental reasons. I've been thinking of using one (or maybe a few) gerbera daisies.

Re: Alternative to Traditional Bouquets
I'm not using using flowers at all and I have kind of a glam theme so I'm using feather fans and for my centerpieces Im using candles and crystals.

Re: Alternative to Traditional Bouquets
The crystal sprays that were posted in a previous picture is a nice idea in addition to the calla lilly's. Also, some brides go down with a rosary (I think Melania Trump did this) instead of flowers.
