FH and I were big into alternative music growing up, in HS and college. We still like indie bands like The Shins and Peter Bjorn and John
I am thinking about maybe doing a 'cool' song for our first dance or walking down the isle to something like 'Bittersweet Symphony' by The Verve...
Smashing Pumpkins 'Luna' or Jane's Addiction 'I Would For You' or Mazy Star 'Fade Into You' ...
Maybe 'Melt With You' for cake cutting song.
Anyone have any ideas????

I don't know if you were into Catherine Wheel, but Rob Dickinson, lead singer did a song called 'My Name is Love.' which is so amazing. I also love The Postal Service 'Such Great Heights' which I think will be the song we will use when we walk in. I also love Mika's 'Any Other World.' Can u tell I work with music? I could go on and on.

My FH loves James and Jane's Addiction. I should see what if anything comes up. 'Classic Girl' is nice too by Jane's.

If you ladies haven't seen the movie 'Once' you should. The soundtrack is sooo dreamy. The song 'Falling Slowly' makes me teary. I love it. I may have the string quartet learn how to play it... For all you alternative music fans, this movie ONCE is amazing and the soundtrack is just as amazing.

our first dance is going to be to somebody by depeche mode. we're both 80s freaks, but i love new wave, and he loves metal, so our musical selection is def going to be a little different, still trying to work out all the kinks. i def need to get some interpol in there too!

we're using some unconventional songs at our wedding too.
we haven't decided on anything for sure but we're thinking of using 'Thirty-Three' (smashing pumpkins) as our first dance song, or possibly 'Running' (No Doubt) or 'Yellow' (Coldplay) [which is 'our song'] or 'Everything' by Alanis Morrisette. We're also contemplating using 'Bad' by The Offspring for the garter toss. And I want to try to work in 'Is this Love' (bob marley), Love Song (311/The Cure), Delicate (Damon Rice), I Put a Spell on You (Screamin' Jay Hawkins). We're thinking of using the theme from 'Grindhouse: Planet Terror' as the BP entrance. I'd love to use 'Servent' (The Cell) for our entrance but I'm not sure it's as upbeat as I'd like it to be, I'd also like to use 'We're in this Together' by Nine Inch Nails but I'm afraid it might scare my gramma.
I'm DYING to find an instrumental version of A Perfect Circle's 'The Nurse Who Loved Me' for my BP to walk down the aisle to, the words are not so great for a wedding but the music is so beautiful and it kinda goes with the song I chose to walk down to. I'd also like to throw in some Elvis and Johnny Cash and possibly 'Kiss Me' by New Found Glory as the processional song, but I'm not so sure about that one.
All I know is we're definetly using 'Where is My Mind?' (The Pixies) as our final song of the night.
Wow this turned out kinda long.....i got on a roll.

I can't imagine my old fashion family getting down to Blur's Girls & Boys - 'Girls who like boys who like boys who do girls who do girls like they're boys .... ' ha ha!
P.S. I was a MAJOR Blur fan (hence my name Blurgirl) for many years, then I didn't really dig their last two albums.
