I think a part of you might be a little jealous that your sister 'might' get engaged after only 3 months...meanwhile you had to wait all those years. Be careful what you say to her, b.c it might def. be interpreted that way. If you are not jealous, then you are a great person. But if you are, you are not a bad person. YOu are just normal. Hopefully you wont have to worry about her getting married before you. That would def. make me mad.

Not to be mean, but yes. I had this situation happen with my brother and SIL. I love them dearly, but they told me that FH and I were not allowed to get engaged until after our wedding. We respected their wishes (poor FH held on to that ring for 4 months!) and got engaged the week after their wedding. I still don't agree with the situation, but it caused a HUGE stir in the family, so we went along with it. I just don't agree with people telling others how to live their life. I don't think it will steal your thunder!

no I am not jealous at all I am actually very happy for her and hope she does get engaged I just dont want people coming up to her at my wedding congradulating her and asking to see her ring......and actually as I am writing this it sound so stupid and petty

Yeah, it is zilla-ish. To expect life to stop for a year, year and a half, two years is a little unreasonable and immature.
That being said, if it was my sister, I'd be pissed as hell and do the exact same thing. I just put myself into the situation and know how I would handle it and react. Guess that makes me a zilla too.

My FSIL got married this August which was no biggy.. I ooriginally had my date for 7/19 but then my FBIL's fiance decided to make their wedding May 24 (Too close).. Then my FH's cousin decided to book theres 7/30!!!!!!!!!!!!... I flipped then had to switch my date because they were stealing my thunder![]()

At my cousin's wedding my other cousin (who was a yr older than the bride) showed up with an engagement ring BUT NO ONE SEEMED TO NOTCE!!! Def not the reaction she was looking for![]()
