My FSIL got married this August which was no biggy.. I ooriginally had my date for 7/19 but then my FBIL's fiance decided to make their wedding May 24 (Too close).. Then my FH's cousin decided to book theres 7/30!!!!!!!!!!!!... I flipped then had to switch my date because they were stealing my thunder

Honestly that sounds a little Zilla-ish.

But if they've only been dating 3 months I don't think you should be worried.

I don't think it's appropriate to tell anyone when they should get engaged, although since they've only been dating for 3 months I doubt you'll have an issue (I hope not!).

Well I would honestly tell her to wait just because its sooo soon NOT b/c I think she would steal my thunder.

Re: am I a bridezilla for.....

they are already talking about getting engaged and he has asked her to move in with him like a month ago It is all moving soooooooo fast and dont get me wrong I am sooooo happy for my sister she has finally found someone who isnt a jerk but IMHO I think she would be crazy to get engaged so soon.

My whole issue is that me and FH dated for 10-11 yrs before we got enagaed and when we did it was so exciting for everyone because everyone was waiting for it to finally happen, now if my sister gets engaged a month before my wedding I can just imagine everyone congratulating her on our wedding day and that would bother me I dont kow why bt it just would.

I think its a little funny.. but you should be telling her not to get engaged because she just met the guy, not because you don't want it to interfere with your wedding. In all honesty though it would bother me a little if my sister stole my thunder but I would be SOOO happy for her that at the same time I wouldn't care.

Well it's not like it's her decision alone so she cant' control when her bf proposes.

I do not think you have any control over when your sister gets engaged. Since you asked I will answer Yes, that is Bridezilla behavior for sure.

I don't think your a bridezilla for thinking that way. You may have come off like one towards your sister. I think she may get annoyed, since she really has no control over it anyway. It is up to the guy. I was worried about the same thing w/ FBIL, I thought all the wedding hoopla would inspire him. However, I think it had the opposite effect. I don't think I have to worry. No one wants to feel like someone else is stealing their thunder. FH did tell his brother I don't care what you do just don't propose during any of our wedding events, the day of , showers, etc..

You should tell her to wait, but not because of you, because if they are getting engaged that quickly they should take their time planning the wedding.

IMHO that's a little bridezilla ish lol.... you can't (and shouldnt!) control when she gets engaged .. that said 3 months isn't a long time but I know ppl who have done it and then were married within 3 months of THAT on top of it...

but I wouldn't worry too much... i mean FH and I 'talked about it' after a year of dating and he just proposed in April 3 1/2 years of dating.
Just because they are talking about it doesn't mean they actually are going to right now.

Yes. You can't tell your sister when to get engaged.

If you think it's too early in her relationship to get engaged, that's a totally separate issue. It just sounds like you don't want her to steal your limelight. Which she won't. It will still be YOUR wedding. YOU in the white dress.

To be honest I would be upset if this were to happen to me also...I know some people may feel it is bridezillaish but it is just how I feel! I think your sister would take your special day in to considersation though. I know she probably has little control over it since her BF would be the one asking her - so I probably would make a joke of it without actually blurting it out and see how she responds lol...I asked my sis-in-law to hold off on having a baby until after my wedding she wasn't mad by my suggestion - she had recently married my brother when I got engaged and she said she would have felt the same way as me if one of her BM got pregnant for her wedding!
