Am I allowed to vent about a church lady? - Update 5/28

I think Ali posted a very similar vent a few days ago, but I am getting SUPER frustrated with my church!

All rehearsals are scheduled through the music director, who doesn't work in the parish office. I'm only supposed to call her between 9 and 10pm.

I called 3 weeks ago. Left a message. Got no call back.
I called 2 weeks ago. Left a message. Got no call back.
Last Thursday I called again and finally talked to her - but she couldn't set a date bc she had to check with the church. She said she would call me back Friday; if not then def Monday.

Guess what. It's a week later and I STILL haven't heard from her... so I called again and had to leave a message!!

I mean I still have two months, but this is my church's 'Jubilee year' so they have all kinds of events going on. Plus it's up in Bayville which only has a few restaurants and can get crowded in the summer bc of the beaches, so I'd like to book something soon!

AHHH I want to be able to check some things off my list!

Update 5/28: She never called me back last week after I posted this - I called again tonight and had to leave ANOTHER MESSAGE!!!!!

I find having to deal with the church has been quite frustrating from day one. I try to be patient but really.....

you are not alone. I had to literally cancel one church and go back to my old parish because I was so upset with how they were treating me.

I dont understand the Catholic Church AT all.

Omg I totally hear you because I have been going through the same thing!!! To get in touch with certain people its turning into a pain and I was like 2 seconds away from flipping out...thank God FH calmed me down lol

This is EXACTLY why I will not get married in the Catholic church (not to mention the fact that FH is Jewish. . .they might as well strike me down right on the altar!!!)--all of the stupid hoops you have to jump through.

Yeah FH is at his wits end with them. Mind you he was an altar server growing up and his fam is very involved with the Catholic church. But really, what else do they want couples to do? If i could chose again, I'd do non-denominational-you pay a small fee and they marry you , no questions asked.

FYI I STILL haven't got a call back from my church lady, and FMIL STILL hasn't tried calling herself.

The next message you leave let them know that you forgot how much money it costs & who should you make the check out to? I bet you get a call back!

i warned you about her!!!!!!! and listen to this!!

Liam and I had our 'final meeting' with her last weekend. We go to the meeting spot under the church and SHE ISN'T THERE!!!

she doesn't have a cell phone and nobody was picking up at her house (seriously, who doesn't have a answering maching or voicemail??)

all we could do was wait (it's an hour drive) FINALLY i got through to her house, she got on the phone and said 'sorry, i went home, i wasn't feeling well'.

ok, i feel bad she wasn't feeling well, but at least give a sister a call!!!!! let me know you went home!!

she eventually came and was very helpful, i think you just have to suck it up and put in the effort.... as annoying as it is...

let me know if you have any st gerts questions!!!

church ladies are not immuned .. you have every right to be upset. ... what gives with these church ladies this is like the 3rd post this week!

Omg that suuuucks! The same thing happened to us when we went to meet the priest for the first time - we got to the parish office and there was no one around! We waited 45 mins and were walking back to the car about to leave when they finally pulled up - and didn't evenapologize for being late!

So wait, you meet with her before the rehearsal? And then again at the rehearsal?

She said she might be on vacation the week of my wedding so I might have to do the rehearsal the week before... I don't really want to do that.
