Am I being a Bridezilla???

Am I being a Bridezilla???

My MOH (aka my sister) tells me that I am crazy for wanting the BP to get to the RH at 9:30 (our ceremony is at 12:00) on the morning of my wedding to take the BP & most of the family pictures (since all of FH's family is in the bridal party). She said I was being unreasonable and is mad that I scheduled hair & makeup for both of us 7:00 AM, since the photographer will be arriving at 9:00 to take a couple of pictures of me getting ready. Vent over, thank you for listening!

Ceremony is at 12:00 PM

Cocktail Hour is from 12:30 - 1:30 PM

Reception is from 1:30 - 5:30 PM

FH & I wanted pictures before hand so the BP can enjoy the cocktail hour.

I'm doing the exact same thing - so if you're a bridezilla, then so am I!

Hmm...NO! She is unreasonable and needs to suck it up! I am doing the exact same thing! If you told her pics would be at 6am sharp and she would have her hair done at 4:30am, maybe she would have somewhat of a point (only somewhat because it is your day!) You are being perfectly reasonable!

Not at ALL!!! A lot of people are having the actual ceremonies at 9:30am or 10am now, so IMO there is nothing wrong with this at all...especially if it means that you get to enjoy your cocktail hour. Stick to your guns!!! Good luck!!

I totally agree with the other posts. Who can blame you for wanting to get the pictures done and out of the way so that you can enjoy your own cocktail hour?

I do not think you are overreacting at all. I would rather be ahead of schedule that behind! My ceremomy is at 6:30pm and I asked my MOH to be at the hall at 12:30pm to get make up, hair etc. why rush when you don't have to!

ETA- my pictures start at 4:00pm.

Your MOH has to realize that ' It's your day, your way!!!!!' There is no way that you could ever be a Bridezilla!!!!!

Nope your not a Bridezilla at at. That time sounds reasonable especially for an afternoon wedding. She has to also remember too everyone has to be made up so it is going to take a few hours too. You can tell her she can sleep in the next morning because that is what she sound like she is driving at. Just tell her it is what scheduled with the photographer so be there or be squared.

Re: Am I being a Bridezilla???

First of all Patty, when I saw it was you asking, my immediate response was NO!!!!!

I am having my ceremony at 6pm and my girls have to be at my house at 9:30AM!!!!!! So she has nothing to complain about. Photog is getting here at 230, I want everyone here so noone is late, I am having breakfast brought in, we can all chat and hang out (and fill petal cones! shhh they don't know that yet ) There is no way you are being a bridezilla.

Why don't people understand what it means to be in someones wedding. The only time a BM should say no, is if the bride is asking for something completely unreasonable! What you are asking is no way shape or form unreasonable!!!

Hair Appontment at 7:30
Church at 2:30
Reception 7-12

My MOH was mad too that she has to be at the Salon so early but we will be there until at least 10:30-11:00 and it's in Oceanside I am getting ready in Smithtown. I told her to suck it up!

Not at all-our reception was at 11:30 so i tried to do the same thing to take pics beforehand. unfortunately my family are a bunch of slow poke A-holes and got me there 2 1/2 hours after i wanted to be so we didnt get any of the pictures we wanted. NONE. Everything was rushed and there are days i still cry about it because the pictures aside from the marriage itself, were the only thiny I really wanted to be the way i wanted and it didn't happen. put your foot down because if not you will regret it and resent your loved ones everytime you look at wedding pics or someone mentions a wedding.

This is a once in a lifetime thing and it is your day! you are not being a bridezilla -

this girl's wedding that I was in - a 3:30 pm ceremony made us arrive at her house at 6 AM! now she was the worst bridezilla I have ever come across!

not unreasonable at all. my ceremony starts at 7pm, and everyone needs to be there and ready by 4pm. thats when the photographer is getting there. so thats 3 hours before..

Re: Am I being a Bridezilla???

That timeframe seems completely reasonable!

Our ceremony starts at 11:30 and we are arriving at the venue for pics at 9am.

My sister's wedding started at 3PM and we had to meet her at the salon at 7am and then go to my parents to get dressed/pictures. I don't think we were doing much hanging around, you'd be surprised how long it can take to get things done.

I think your sister is being unreasonable and should be willing to get up a little early for you on your wedding day.
