So we're in the process of picking DJs and we met with Tommy Tunes, LI Sound, and After Hours. I really love LI Sound and really want to choose them. But FH's coworker referred him to a DJ my FH talked to them and they offered us live musicians, led lights, montages...The works. So I asked for the name and looked at their website and it was all pictures of kids parties! It says they do weddings but there weren't any pictures of weddings on their site. The DJ and the Officiant were things o wanted to leave for FH to choose but he didn't do any research on this DJ. Now I'm worried and kinda want to take over choosing the stuff I wanted to leave up to him. Should I just really push for LI Sound or trust my FH decisions, advice?

I don't think you're being a bridezilla. I know it all comes together, but in my opinion the music makes the party and if you're having doubts about that DJ I would at the very least express it to your FH - it will only cause hostility between the two of you if something were to not go right.

Did you try googling the DJ and reading reviews from different sites?

Yes I did there's no reviews on them online which makes me even more nervous. I'm planning to discuss it with him tonight but I just feel bad because he was so excited that he found a good deal and I don't want to hurt his feelings.

I don't think you are being a bridezilla. We all want our wedding days to be perfect and that means going with the vendors we feel the most comfortable with. I'm kind of going through this with FH's 2 cousins. They seem to know someone who does every aspect of a wedding. The 1 cousin is a florist so he's doing our flowers which I am more than grateful for. He also 'knows a guy' who does limos so he keeps texting FH about what we need so he can get us a quote. I finally snapped at FH the other night because I want to sit down with a limo company and find out if my thinking makes sense and what the best plan would be. I have no idea who this guy is he knows and have no idea if its a legit limo company. Talk to FH and go with your gut.

If you don't feel comfortable dont do it understand dj is one of your most important vendors if your guests are sitting around not enjoying themselves then u will never forgive your Fh and consider all the money that goes down the drain. Express your concerns w ur Fh

I think it is important to compare deals. If that means including your FH's friend, do so. Nothing wrong with getting quotes and seeing where everything stands.
Personally, I have a co-worker who is a DJ and he has friends who also DJ. My FMIL's friend does photography, but even her friend said that I don't have to pick her.
Take your time and look at all your options.

We are in a similar situation. We met with several DJ companies and the only one we liked was LI Sound. However, their prices are kinda outrageous for even a basic package. We are meeting with another company that was recommended by a friend where we could spend the same price but get more. We will see how it goes.

So we sat down and talked about it and his exact words were 'Hey maybe the DJ knows a good clown.' So we laughed about it. He said he really likes LI Sound too but was just price shopping. He said he would never choose anything I wasn't comfortable with. What a relief. Just a reminder why I love him so much. Thanks for the advice ladies just didn't want to become a control freak.

You're not being a brideszilla, you're being smart. I'm going with a friend but only because he also DJ'd my brothers wedding and did a phenomenal job. Maybe just to keep the peace with future hubby, meet with the DJ and have him show you samples of weddings. Then if you really don't like him, persuade FH like all us women do and get your way in the end. Lol Bridezillas are irrational, you are not, it's a lot of money and the most important day of your life, it's a big decision.
Edited: damn auto correct!

I am laughing because I have had many moments of taking over FH's tasks... He doesn't want to research! You do what you need to do to make your wedding best. But I will say with a DJ, it could be kind of an advantage to have a friend because you can control them a bit more than someone you are just hiring.
