I have been watching these boards for a while now , I live in Pennsylvania now, but my family is from Long Island, so it only makes sence to travel here since we are the only ones in Penn., I went to a wedding at Jericho Terrace about 5 years ago and I loved it so when me and my fiance Angelo came down for Halloween to see his nephews we stopped by to speak with a BM. We loved it but it is really the only place we looked at. We were supposed to come back last weekend and look at more but my fiance dosen't see the point he loved the food and the room and it's the only wedding we have been to that we really liked, am I being foolish if we don't look anywhere else?

If you both love it, then no, you're not being foolish. However, if you are asking the question, it suggests to me that you are having some kind of doubt - whether it is doubt about JT, or just not feeling comfortable booking a location without doing some comparison shopping - it is still doubt. My FH was the same way about comparison shopping, he didn't understand why we would look at a 2nd anything if we liked the first one. He has since admitted I was right to shop around.

Where there's a will, there's a way! I am sure that with the right planning and attitude you can plan a great wedding no matter where you are. Every detail will melt away when you marry the guy of your dreams anyway! If you can picture yourself at that venue then I'd go for it. If you are the type of person who second guesses things (like I love to research things to death to know I have the BEST)... then I'd say look for more locations.
We have been working on our plans from a different country (wedding in Italy but planning here!) I lived in PA before and got my gown in NY... so I know how tough it can be from a distance. If you need moral support, just FM me!

There are some things I booked without shopping around and there are things that we took forever to find one.
My florist I only went to one vendor and booked.
All the rest of my vendors, I only went to 4 tops on all of them.
Our hall, we went to about 10 before we settled on Jericho Terrace. I still had more places on my list (including Fox Hollow and The Metropolitan) but FH and I fell in love with Jericho Terrace. I also didn't want to have to look at another hall again.
You can't go wrong with JT. However, if you want to keep looking, even for the sake of comparison and to be sure your gut instinct is right, then by all means, look at a few other places.

I think if you BOTH really liked it then go for it. If you see too many places your gonna get confused and it will not be often that both of you like the same place. Do what you guys want and what is going to make your day special.

No, i don't think you're being foolish because JT has a great reputation. Everyone that's been to or had a wedding there has loved it.

I think you girls are right , don't get me wrong Jericho Terrace is beautiful, but I think I need to see a couple of more places only because I searched these boards and a lot of hall websights and I know I will always wonder what else was out there.

Hi! I honestly don't think you're being foolish at all. I looked at several places by myself after I had seen East Wind CG last year. It is the one that always stuck with me and it's the only one FH had to see. If it's the right place, you'll know it. If you and FH are happy there, book it! JMHO.

No.... your not being foolish at all. If you both love it and it is in your budget then that is your venue!!! Simple as that!
I really loved my catering hall... looked around and FI and I picked my original catering hall that I loved. I thought I would feel better about looking around but it just in a way, just wasted time.
Since you have to travel so much to do this wedding planning ... you may choose not to waste your time when you already love one place.

I was the same way, I was set on having my wedding at Westbury Manor and that was that! But just to ease everyone's minds, we went and looked other places. I wound up totally falling in love with Fox Hollow and not being that crazy about Westbury Manor. I definitely think you should look at other places, it definitely doesn't hurt, and the worst thing that can come out of it is that you either A) Cement your totally love for Jericho Terrace (which is beautiful) or B) You fall in love with a different place. Either way you're going to have a beautiful wedding! Good luck with everything!

I can't thank you all enough for the help you all SO easily give , even just writing on these boards a few times I feel like I can get a bunch of honest opinion's from SO many unbiased people, even sometimes when my cousin tries to help she only gets me more crazy and my fi has basically told me that all he cares about is that the food is outstanding (he was a chef).
