I have been watching these boards for a while now , I live in Pennsylvania now, but my family is from Long Island, so it only makes sence to travel here since we are the only ones in Penn., I went to a wedding at Jericho Terrace about 5 years ago and I loved it so when me and my fiance Angelo came down for Halloween to see his nephews we stopped by to speak with a BM. We loved it but it is really the only place we looked at. We were supposed to come back last weekend and look at more but my fiance dosen't see the point he loved the food and the room and it's the only wedding we have been to that we really liked, am I being foolish if we don't look anywhere else?

hi congrats and welcome! im planning from CT and was in the same predicament.
people will tell you to hunt all over looking at places, but i looked at one place, loved it, and booked it. thats it.
you seem to have high regards for the place and you are already imagining your wedding there so my advice is dont waste time and just book it- good luck!

I'd say no, because I'm getting married there! I knew I wanted to get married at Jericho Terrace just from the website! But since FH and I live in MD and we don't know that many LI halls, we still went to look at a bunch of others to be sure. It can't hurt to look at one more place before you book. This site is great for finding about halls, especially if you have certain requirements. You and your FH could choose one more to visit, and then make your decision. Good luck!

We only really looked at the CB. I don't know that it was Foolish to do so, as our wedding ended up being rather wonderful, but I did have my share of regrets for not looking around more.
The Jericho Terrace is beautiful, you can be sure of that. I'd look at a few reviews over on the Bride's Review board before you actually book to calm your nerves.
Where in PA are you? DH and I are in Delaware.

If you think you will always regret not looking anywhere else, then you may want to check out a few other places.
If not, book it!

I say you should look at more places. FH were all about booking the first place we saw, and then my parents said we should look at other places. And don't you know, that first place wound up on the bottom of the list!

No sometimes you dont need to see many places to know you want something specifically And honestly you cannot go wrong with the JT it is REALLY pretty

Definitely NOT foolish! I love love love the place we got married. We did NOT look anywhere, but there. It was EVERYTHING we wanted.

We basically looked at two places, but the second place was just too humor my mom to say we didn't just select the first one we looked at. If you love it go for it.

I don't think anyone's foolish if they book the only place they saw. If you love... you love it.
It seems to me that you are a little doubtful, since you're asking this question and you were supposed to come last weekend to look at more places (but FH said no, there's no point). If you do have doubts, it doesn't hurt to look a few more. Even if you still end up with JT... at least you have the peace of mind that you made the best choice.

I only looked at one place. We walked in and knew it was the only place for us, so if you love it and the price is right go for it!

Not foolish. FH and I only looked at two temples. I knew we would book the first one, but we wanted to have a basis of comparision to make sure we were getting our money's worth (rather FH did). I am a 'go with your gut' person. I even booked on blind faith not ever having gone to a function where my wedding is to be held. Well now that the wedding is 99 days away and just having been to a family function at the same temple, I am excited because my gut was right. IT WAS GREAT. Go with your gut and you are not foolish.

I only looked at 2 places-
let me relate it to this- sometimes when I am shopping I find something I love at the first store- then I spend the rest of the day trying to find something better etc- I never do
I always go back and buy the first thing I liked and get mad at my self for wasting time!

If this makes you feel better, my sister looked at the place for me and I booked it without ever stepping foot in the door. I live out of state. I totally trust my sister's opinion and she had just gotten married herself so she knew what questions to ask
