Am I being greedy?

I am having a engagement party next weekend and I did not register because I assume I was not going to have a bridal shower (I live in NC). Well my mom told me that they are throwing me a shower (probably in March). My ? is, is it crazy to invite people to an engagement party, bridal shower and wedding and expect gifts? I wish I would have written 'no gifts please' on the engagement invite but I did not. Any ideas?

You're not being greedy. Plenty of people register at time of engagement. Most people do end up giving cash to the couple for the engagement party, but it helps to have registered and get gifts from the registry.
