Am I Being Impatient? UPDATE!!

I ordered my dress in December when I was in NJ for the holidays (I live in Germany, and dresses are more expensive over here, plus Iw anted my sister to go with me).

So about 5 weeks ago I got a call that my dress was in! I was so excited. I had them send it to my friend's (a BM) address because her father is stationed over here and shipping would be ALOT cheaper. My friend has had my dress for almost 4 weeks and has STILL not sent it!!

She keeps emailing and calling saying she's definitely sending it, then something comes up?!? She said the box is too big, so she needs her friend to drive her... well if the friend keeps canceling or something, then take a friggin taxi and I'll pay you back! GEEZ! Am I being a bridezilla? I really just want to see my dress because I forget what it looks like, and I am paranoid that theres something wrong with it, or that it will get lost in the mail.. I just wanna know its safe at home with me!

O and this is the same BM who took over 2 MONTHS to give me her measurments.

UPDATE!!! My friend just called and said she sent it and I'll have it tomorrow!! WOOHOOH! Cn't wait to see it

OMG, I would be freaking too. I would like to think that one of your BM's would be aware of the time constraints and be a little more willing to get a move on... I'm sorry!

Try explaining the situation to her and ask her to put herself in your position...

Call and ask her to get it to you ASAP and you will cover the cost, is there anyone else who can pick it up and mail it to you? I hope you get it soon!

No you are not being impatient at all!!! She's had 4 weeks to send it to you!!!
I would definitely explain to her that you need your dress ASAP for fittings, etc.
What's her excuse for not sending it!?!??!!

O good, I was starting to wonder if I was being pushy or something.
Right now the dress ios still int he box the dress shop sent it to... and my friend's excuse is that the box is too big to bring to the post office so she needs one of her friends with a car to bring her. Apparently this friend of hers keeps cancelling on her, but honestly, I think my friend is just lazy. This is SOOO typical for her...unreliable and always makes up excuses. The first excuse is that she didn't have $$ so she needed to wait till she got paid because she was expecting it to be really $$...well first of all, it won't be that expensive, 2nd of all I told her I'd tranfer the $$ to her account ASAP once she knows how much it would cost, and 3rd, I can't belive she has 0$ in her bank account because she works full time and has enough $$ to buy her cigarrettes n what not.

Unfortunately I don't know anyone else near her to ask to send it to me. She obviously has no idea what its like to get a wedding gown! Pisses me off though because this is the ONLY thing I am asking her to do.. she doesn't have to plan any parties or showers or anything. GRRR now I'm even more mad

I agree that you've been very patient through this! I'd be going crazy right now! I would call her and put it like:

'I know you've had issues come up that have prevented you from mailing the dress, but I must have it by [insert date here] in order to have fittings done. I will reimburse you for the shipping/cab fare/etc in order to get it out. If you can't get it in the mail by [insert date here], then let me know so I can make arrangements for someone else to get it.'

Then, if she still makes excuses and doesn't get it done, I'd go ballastic on her!

You're totally not being a bridezilla! You're getting married in less than 3 months!!! You need your dress! Is there anyone else that you can call that is more reliable that can pick it up from her and send it to you? ....
