I am wearing a strapless gown, and I really dont want my FMIL to wear a strapless gown too. I expressed this many times, of course the only dresses she has liked have been strapless. I know she is doing it out of spite. So tomorrow I am going with her to see these dresses, can I stand up for myself and tell her NO WAY, or do I let her get want she wants. She also told me to bring a pic of my dress, because she thinks one she chose was similar! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It better not be white!!!!!!!!!! What do I do ladies?

I would't bring a picture at all and just take a look at what she is interested in. The strapless issue doesn't really matter. This FMIL seems odd to me?Keep us posted on her dress after you see it.If it is in a bridal salon the ladies in there can come to your defense if she is wearing a similar dress.

You should tell her how much you love the dress and maybe it will do reverse psychology and she'll get something totally different.... Let us know how everything turns out. Good Luck!

Very clever idea. Please let us know her expression when she sees the actual dress you are wearing on that day. MILs need to back off sometimes!!!!
