Am I being unreasonable?
My cousin (also my BM & best friend) lives in FL along with the rest of my family. She kinda blabbed her big mouth to me about my shower. I cut her off mid-sentence & told her it's supposed to be a surprise, and that I didn't want to know when it was. So she tells me that I'm having 2. One in FL that my mom is throwing when I go down there in 3 weeks (so much for THAT surprise), and another one up here which my FMIL is throwing (mainly b/c they're almost all her guests).
I know my FMIL wants it to be a surprise - that's just how her family does stuff like this. But I found out (again through my cousin) that it's gonna be on a Sunday. She told me b/c she's not sure what to do. She can fly up on the Friday before, but she has to leave at the latest on Monday morning. But I won't be able to see her and spend time with her if my shower is kept a surprise!!! I only go to FL to see my family like twice a year, and this is a rare opportunity for me to spend some time with her before the wedding. She's the ONLY one who has offered to help w/ wedding stuff.......and she's not even the MOH!!! She really wants to come up for the shower, but it almost seems pointless for her to fly up for the shower & fly home the next day!!!
