My MOH (best friend) and SIL seemed to have a lot in common when they met (for gown fittings, bachelorette party, bridal shower, and of course the wedding).
Well now I heard that SIL invited my MOH to a party she is going to. Let me know if I'm overreacting but I just feel INSANELY jealous. I hate feeling left out of things and my SIL never invited me to anything. It seems like she is better friends with my MOH and it just bothers me so much because I really wanted us to be close like that

I would probably feel the same way..So I don't blame you for feeling a little jealous..Maybe put yourself out there more and push to be included also? maybe ask them if they want to do something and plan it? or maybe let them know how you feel..they may be unaware that you feel this way

Re: am I being unreasonable?
she invited your best friend to a party and not you? i'm assuming your friend is the one who told you about it? if so, what did she say? does she think it's weird? b/c i would if i were her.
i would be hurt too...and if i were your SIL i would feel funny inviting your friend and not you. is there a reason she didn't invite you, like can she only bring one other person?
still...i'm sorry, i'd feel the same way you do.

OMG I am SO the exact same way!!! I hate that I get that way but I can't help it! Thankfully, my MOH completely understands me and knows enuf to discuss these things with me. If I didn't want her to go, she wouldn't go.
I totally know where you're coming from! It would bother me a lot too! I'm sorry!!

Are they both single? maybe they have that in common. It's diffiuclt to find single people to hang out with when everyone esle is a couple?

Re: am I being unreasonable?
Actually, DH is the one who told me.
SIL's phone broke and she lost all her numbers. So, my FIL called my DH to say that SIL wants my MOH's number and if I could give it to her. Then he told DH it was because she told her about a party she wanted to invite her to.
I know the reason she didn't ask me is because I'm not really into partying, etc.. but she does other things! She gets her nails done... goes shopping... things that I do all the time- and she never asks me to do anything with her---- but she managed to ask my best friend to go to this party. It just really made me feel out in the dust

I have definitely been in this situation before and I can absolutely sympathize with you being jealous. But its NOT a rejection of you (it took me a long time to realize this). You said you dont like to party, your SIL knows this, and is probably why she didnt invite you. Why dont you maybe invite her to lunch or a manicure or something one day?

I totally would be jealous too. I would tell her nicely, that you are glad that she hit it off with your MOH, but that you are feeling a little left out. Even though you are not a partier anymore, you would have liked to have been asked. It will work out! Sorry you are going through that!

I think we've all been in a similar situation. I would (and have) felt the same way. Actually I'm going through a similar thing with friends that all have babies getting together. Tell them how you feel without making a huge issue of it, maybe through humor. Then just invite one of both of them out to do something you want to do.

Re: am I being unreasonable?
thanks for all the advice everyone- I'm glad I'm not being unreasonable because I can be SUPER sensitive!
I'll probably say something to my best friend before my SIL because we're closer and she's just easier to talk to in general It's bugging me that they are closer than I am with my SIL. I didn't put them in my bridal party so they can become all chummy
