am I crazy?

am I crazy?

feel free to respond yes! So this past weekend was our one year mark, and FH is not that romantic. I'm his first girlfriend and he never really had opportunities to be romantic, so one of the groomsmen (who is a mutual friend of ours) asked me if I wanted him to give FH advice...I said please do! So he told FH to get me flowers or do something romantic for our one year before the wedding mark. FH goes to the gym in the morning, and on the way back has to go to stop and shop to get coffee creamer. When he comes back he hands me peach carnations that he bought at the supermarket- and I was a lil upset! I mean, I know its the thought that counts, but I don't feel like fh put any htought into it! I hate carnations, and am not too fond of peach- and he had to be reminded by someone to do something romantic- am I wrong in thinking that this isn't romantic?

Should I say anything to FH (when he gave me flowers, he said he knew they weren't my favorite, so he knows what they are)- so he knows how to be romantic in the future? Or should I smile and say thanks and keep my mouth shut?

I want to say no but my head is telling me yes!
Why not just tell him that you know he isnt that romantic and the flowers were really sweet and you love them (Lie) but would like it if he got you ones you like the next time so you can enjoy them MORE

IMO I would be happy by the first time gesture. It may not have been perfect but it's a start. if you criticise he may back off. I would play it up and make a big deal, tell him how much it meant and how you love them. Then in the future when you see your favorite flower point it out, or if you are planning to go looking for flowers say I LLLOOOVVEE blank. He'll get the hint and he wants to make you happy so don't be surprised if you get the flowers or something else romantic next time. No ones FH is perfect and everyone has things they can work on. Good Luck HTH.

You could tell him, but it probably won't make a difference.

I've been begging FH to be romantic for years....I'm still waiting.

Then again, the one time he did try I had just gotten home from spending 4 hours in an airport followed by a bumpy 2 hr plane ride. I just wanted sleep and I came home to a room full of candles. I was thankful, but not all that receptive.

He used to do nice things-- surprise dinners, show tickets, etc...but that was while he was still trying to win me back (we had broken up for awhile). He succeeded and I guess he feels he doesn't have to try anymore.

just love him for what he does do and because he at least attempted the flowers! Maybe someday our men will surprise us
