AM I CRAZY...

I KNOW I AM KIND OF A CONTROL FREAK BUT... I DONT KNOW IF THIS IS NORMAL. MY FMIL PICKED OUT HER DRESS WITHOUT ME AND THE ONLY WAY I KNOW IS FROM MY FH. SHE STILL HASN'T TOLD ME AND I STILL DONT KNOW WHT IT LOOKS LIKE. I WANT EVERYONE IN MY WEDDING TO HAVE THE SAME LOOK.. IM WORRIED NOW

Why don't you call her up and say you heard she got her dress. Maybe sound excited so she doesnt know your upset. And ask her to tell you what it looks like.

I wouldn't worry about it. In the grand scheme of things, it's such a tiny detail.

Call her up and tell her FH told you she got her dress. Tell her you'd love to see it and that you wish you could've gone with her. I really wouldn't get worked up over it.

Ya like everyone else said i would call her. Turn it around and sound like you would've been excited to go with her. I'm sure no matter what she will look great with your scheme. I would be angry too...I just don't think people think.

ummm, your FMIL is a Grown woman, she cant buy her dress on her own ?
And what does it matter ? Thats a very small detail, trust me, you wont be worrying about her on your day.
you really wont, even if she wore white, let hope she doesnt.

well you can call her and just ask to see the dress, say youre excited she got her dress and cant wait to see it. BUt she did nothing wrong

BUT you said you want everyone in your wedding to have the same look, im guessing you meant BP and parents maybe, not every guest? but regardless, you cant make your FMIL wear what you wanther to wear, she should feel comfortable and LOVE what she is wearing. She also should stand out and shouldn't have to look like everyone else. I wouldn't worry about this, it really won't even matter at all on your wedding day. Focus on bigger things

i went dress shopping w/FMIL only because she had bought a dress that she didnt' really like, and didn't know where else to look. otherwise, i really didn't care what she wore, she has good taste and i trust her judgement.

however, my father's wife is another story. we've gone to weddings where she's shown up in rhinestone flip flops, i kid you not i know she bought a new dress for my wedding, but i have no idea what it looks like. her son got married in nov, and i told her to wear that dress, but she insisted it was too fancy since she wasn't the MOB. i'm hoping she picked something nice. i'm sure she's dressing up nicer than rhinestone flip flops, but i really have no idea what to expect. however, i refuse to get worked up about it. it's something out of my control. other than the BP, i don't feel i should be telling anyone what they can or cannot wear, JMO.

Honestly, unless her dress is really inappropriate (like with crazy cutouts and very revealing or whatever) I think this is one thing you do not need to control. Being on the other side (after the wedding) like I am, trust me, this should not be a big issue at all.
