Am I crazy?

So I just started dress shopping and have only found a couple that I really like. Last night I got a text from my cousin asking 'is that the dress?' well come to find out my mom sent pictures to my aunt of some of the near possibilities and she posted them on FB!!!!

I was sooo upset! I have a FB but rarely go on and never put real personal things on there but there I was in a wedding gown that I really loved with a veil and everything. I immediatly got messages and texts from people telling me their opinion of the dress! Which does not help. On top of that I feel like now I don't want to wear that dress because everyone already saw it. But if I wear something else people are going to say 'what happened to the one on FB? I liked that one'

Ugh this is why I'm pretty sure FB is the devil.

OMG, that's horrible. All pictures that have been taken are on my camera or phone. I do show some people the picture, but I will not send anyone the photo.

FB isn't the devil but your mom needs to show some restraint.

It wasn't even my mom. It's her sister and I get why she wanted to send them to her because she can't be here to go dress shopping. It was my aunt that then put them on fb. I should have had them all taken on my phone. Good thinkin!

OMG!!! I would be pissed. I hope your FH is not on FB. Honestly I took my cousin's advice and went dress shopping by myself. I've heard too many bad stories. I'm going to just ask my mom for the money and get it myself.

I would have been livid. Sounds like you need to call your aunt and speak to her. I have an aunt who tends to cross the line sometimes, and while I love her, I'm not scared to put her in her place anymore. I would say something along the lines of 'I am including you and asked my mom to pass along the photos bc I want you to be part of this. As excited as you are, if you can't respect my privacy and realize why posting photos of me in a wedding dress would be out of line, then I will not include you in anything from this point forward'. I've said something similar to both my aunt and my cousin already.

In respect to the dress, whether it's that one or a different one, don't let other people's opinions decide which dress you wear.

Oh my god I would be flipping out!! I don't understand what some people are thinking when they post and share stuff on Facebook. Crazy! I got annoyed with my mom earlier on in my planning because she was telling my aunt (her sister) every little detail and then my aunt would ask me stuff and I would be like how the heck do you know about that? I nicely told my mom that the details of my day are not meant to be shared and the problem stopped. I would definitely set your mom straight ASAP and of course tell your aunt to tell the pictures down. I also would not buy that dress. You will find one you love more that will be a surprise to everyone.

Not at all! I'm surprised someone would be that dumb TBH. I dont blame you for wanting a different one but at the same time if you LOVE this one stick with it..many people will still be surprised

OMG my friend did this the first time i tried on THE Dress. i was SO pissed. good thing she tagged me & my sister and my sister caught it really fast. my friend told me it wasnt 'the' dress but then my sister still had it on her phone (was already taken down but she hadnt clicked off yet) and it WAS. thank god FW was busy and we texted her really quickly to stay off FB!!!

people are so dumb on FB one time my aunt posted 'good luck with your job search' on my sisters wall. like... REALLY! imagine her current boss saw that ! lol

Thanks ladies. I really don't blame my mother my aunt can't travel to see the dresses so I get why she sent the pix. We had the 'please stop telling everyone every little detail' convo early in the planning. She stopped but the dress was something that my aunt would have seen if she lived closer.

Thank goodness fh does not have fb!! I would have lost it! It really does drive me crazy how much people over share!!! It wasn't even hers to share!!

I talked to my aunt she apologized she said she didn't think it would be such a big deal. Chalk it up to young people's technology in older people's hands!

I would have been VERY upset. I'm only taking my mom and sister gown shopping. My BM are my FH's sisters so I don't even plan on showing them the gown early!

I'd be super angry...also i'd pick a different dress now...making sure its ur phone/camera in the future is a good idea!!

You need to tell your Mother not to post anything related to your wedding without your permission.
FSIL posted a picture of my FMIL that I sent her and I got annoyed because I didn't want people seeing her dress (not even mine or my Mother, but my FMIL's dress).
It's your wedding and in the case your dress, regulate!

That's terrible. I would tell her off. You need to tell her to take those pics off FB immediately. When my daughter went shopping, we took some pictures on our phones and then I 'reminded' everyone not to put them on FB and everyone said, of course they knew that. I even deleted the pics from my phone because I was afraid that I might accidentally put them on FB (I'm old and not very iphone savvy...lol). My daughter also 'reminded' the girls not to put pics of the bridesmaids dresses on FB.
Start over fresh and you will get the dress that was really meant to be and it will be gorgeous!

OMG I would be PISSED off!! How the hell do you go and post photos of possible wedding dresses on FB?! I mean c'mon!! No common sense?!?! If I were in that position, I prob wouldn't want that dress anymore either. Keep searching, you sound like you aren't 100% sure its the one anyways so I am sure that the actual one is still out there. Tell your mom to share the photos with no one unless you give her permission, and no freakin' FB!!!!
