I would let it go...let her be upset but then just forget it happened. It's not worth fighting over!

I am so confused with this post... maybe its b/c im buzzed from drinking all day... or not lol

Wait so this friend of yours is upset b/c she didnt get a reception card? Maybe she thought she wasnt invited to the reception?

I would let her know that 2 other people were helping you stuff envelopes and that other people did not get reception cards either by mistake.

This is prob. her way of dealing with the embarressment. She is prob. upset, feels bad, and is just so embarressed that she made a mistake. I am sure she doesn't want you to be angry at her about it. Its not like she did it intentionally and I am sure it was an honest mistake. The people who got those 5 invites will totally understand it was a mistake. You just have to figure out which 5 they were. They'll call I am sure.

A little side story to cheer you up cause it could have been sooo much worse! One of my really close friends sent out her invites and forgot the reception cards in ALL of her invites. No idea how that happened. When I got it, I was like hmmmm.... so I just called her. So a few days later, I got another envelope in the mail with the RSVP card. Oh and her last name was spelled wrong on her save the dates (a friend did them for her). So she was a total disaster.

Believe me, FH and I both said if this is the biggest thing to go wrong we are lucky! I am not so upset about it, I am extremely upset that my friend of 15 years cannot be a grown up at 35 yrs old and speak to me about it, instead carrying on like a drama queen and crying in front of children. She has created this huge drama out of it instead of just saying sorry about it. Mistakes happen and I am sure she was embaressed but we have been friends for years, no phone call, text, email, nothing...yet she runs over crying in front of FH's whole family which now has him furious at her.

No offense but i think she did try to deal it by calling and apologizing...when you told her you were upset and didn't want to talk about it that might have turned her off from 'Dealing with it..'

Im not trying to make you angry but personally I don't know if that was the most mature way to handle it...I kinda think she did the right thing...after she tried to talk to you about it once and you didnt want to, what was she supposed to do?

I agree.....if you were aloud to not want to talk about (and yes I understand your the bride, it was your invites that got messed up) then she is aloud to not want to talk about it too....maybe apologize for not allowing her to apologize and I am sure she will apologize for venting too.... sorry you are dealing with this!

ITA!!! I think you are being way too hard on her. You said yourself:

'So....... I get a message from BM saying how she was sorry and doesn't know how it happened blah blah. So I call her back and say I know that it was an accident but I don't feel like talking I am upset and I will see you tomorrow on the beach.'

So, she did already try to apologize and you didnt want to hear it...I totally understand bc you were upset- but she did try to apologize and she obviously feels bad about it b/c she is crying. She is prob. embarrassed and feels bad about messing up your invites.

I would just talk to her... she already tried to talk to you- dont be too hard on her....mistakes happen and it was only 5.... she feels bad and didnt do it on purpose. Talk to her about this before it causes more drama.

You are right I did say that night that I didn't want to talk about it. I also said I know its not your fault it was an accident, and we will talk tomorrow on the beach. I also said hello as soon as I saw her the next day. I guess what really bothers me is the crying drama at in laws.. If you are upset talk to me don't drag them into it. Now fh is pissed and it has dragged up some past issues with her that is just drama. Thanks for feedback...do I just hope that it all dies down with his family?

I think she was probably crying at the in-laws because you didn't want to talk about it and the other BM that you stuffed the envelopes with is FH's sister- that would make sense. She probably didn't know who else to turn to when she felt bad.

I would just let it go- she tried to apologize and in the end, like you said, if forgetting 5 reception cards is the worst thing that happens, I'd say you're doing pretty well! Its not worth ruining a relationship over.

I do think it would be a good idea to just talk to her and just smooth things over so shes not still crying and dragging it out. Hopefully it'll just blow over after that. Good luck!

ITA!!! Talking it all out takes all of the confusion out of it... as far as the missing reception cards are concerned, tell your family to put feelers out because some of the invites were mis-assembled. chances are you'll get a million questions anyway so people might not even notice they're not there. It'll all be ok!!!
