Ok so I've been so excited about getting a sample dress from Kleinfelds, I got a $6000 gown for $3000 and I was ecstatic. I was just watching 'Say Yes to the Dress' on TLC and I saw a girl IN MY DRESS!!! Not the same style, not a similar one it was my dress. I know it was tried on before me when I bought it but it just hit me in a really bad way. Please tell me I'm freaking out for nothing.

I dont mean to be harsh....but you got a $6000 dress for $3000 BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN WORN BEFORE BY MANY PEOPLE IN THE STORE. You knew that when you bought it. Its not a big deal. I mean this is the nicest way possible -- get over it. There will be many things to stress over down the road. This is just not one of them.

It is your dress now, yours you bought it, its yours! Enjoy it! I didn't buy a dress yesterday at Saks sample sale, a 4500 dress for 1400- because I wasn't 100% sure, and now I'm kind of kicking myself! Enjoy your dress!

I agree, If I had the option to do that and get the discount you did I would consider it a steal. Dont let it get to you, no one will know you didnt order it brand new except for you! Plenty of people buy samples all the time

yup---ditto. you got a great deal cause others have worn it before -- but hey--who cares!
this is NOT worth crying over--trust me when i say that if you are going to cry about this---you are going to have many many months of puffy eyes cause in wedding planning there are LOTS of times when you break down in tears!!!

I don't understand what you are upset over? You couldn't possibly have thought that no one has ever tried on your dress before you.
I guess seeing your actual dress on someone else could be upsetting, but its YOURS now and no one else will ever wear it again!!

awww girrrrrl YOU own it now!!! no one else has had that garment as a part of their special day....the memories in that dress are all yours! you're FINE. My guess, you needed to let a cry out or feel bummed in general, the show came on you saw the dress and that became the lightning rod for it. ...just a guess, cause i promise you...NOT a big deal :) :)

Thank you for the support, you're all right. It is my dress and it looks great on me and I love it. I knew I got a sample and what that meant, I know so many girls wait in line for hours to be able to do what I did. This wedding stuff is all starting to hit me hard, I'm not used to the high stress.

aww unless you have a dress custom made there will always be someone else who has bought your dress. If your dress made it to say yes to the dress then that just means you have beautiful taste. Cheer up!!! Especially that it will look much better on you!!

In the grand scheme of things to worry about or be upset about in life, I'd say this ranks pretty much on the bottom, right above being abducted by aliens.
Seriously - you got the dress half price b/c it was a sample that had been worn in the store. It's your dress now and no one else's. You'll look beautiful in it and love it - and that's all that matters. I'll also venture to say that 99.9% of your guests don't watch Say Yes to the Dress and wo't make any connection.

Seriously, you have to let up on the stress if it's that bad. You'll never survive the next 8 months! Okay, you'll survive, but you'll be miserable. It's supposed to be a fun, happy time. Don't get so caught up in all the little things. Things will go wrong - fact of life. Enjoy the planning and don't get caught up on the little things. Seriously, don't sweat the small stuff.
Is it stressful? Yes, of course... but it's doable. Don't let the stress get to you so much or you will set yourself up to miss out on enjoying being engaged. Trust me, time flies... enjoy it while you can.

Re: Am I crying over nothing?
What about the rest of your clothes? I buy my clothes from the store, and I'm sure people have tried on a lot of my clothing before and decided not to buy it! (but hopefully not my underwear!)
I try on lots of clothes that I dont end up buying, and then someone else probably buys it down the road. It's not like someone wore it to their wedding -- it's still going to be worn to YOUR wedding! If it's in good condition who cares?
I'd be thrilled about saving $3000! That's like a cruise for you and FH
Edit: I fit into the sample of my dress and would have loved to just take it home with me. I don't know if it even would have been an option, but we decided to lengthen the train and my dress has a measured hem, so I had to order a new dress. If I had a $6000 dress and had the option to save $3000 by getting the sample I would do it in a second (as long as it still looked new)
