Am I going to be the only bride with a Tulle Ballgown?

I loved my dress when I first ordered it, but now, I'm feeling like it's a little too 'costume-y'. When I ordered it, ballgowns were still kind of popular, but every time I read someone's review, their gowns are so elegant & sophistocated. Is anyone else feeling like me? I just don't want to feel like a big dork the day of my wedding.

Re: Am I going to be the only bride with a Tulle Ballgown?

I am getting a tulle ballgown and I wouldn't change it for anything. I have always wanted one and i tried on tons of other dresses and kept coming back to it.

It doesn't matter what is 'popular' as long as you love it

Re: Am I going to be the only bride with a Tulle Ballgown?

You have to get what YOU love. If you love a Tulle Ballgown, then that's what you should wear. I've went to plenty of weddings and seen all sorts of dresses, from fluffed out ballgowns to simple halter top dresses with no puff at all.

Get what you love. I love the tulle gowns. Don't look at what everyone else is getting stick to what you love. That is most important.

Re: Am I going to be the only bride with a Tulle Ballgown?

I totally understand where you are coming from. My dress is a slim/mermaid style dress and I have gone back and forth thinking I'm not going to look like a 'bride.' I love my dress, but I see other beautiful ballgowns that I like too. If you have a vision for how you want to look go for it and no one will say you think dorky, they will only think how beautiful you look.

Re: Am I going to be the only bride with a Tulle Ballgown?

Not costume-y at all!
These are currently my favorite and I plan on getting one. I haven't tried them on though so they may not look good on me..but I'm praying they do. They are soo princess looking and the tulle I think almost makes you look magical.

Re: Am I going to be the only bride with a Tulle Ballgown?

If you love it, and it looks good what difference does it make what everyone else is wearing? They're not getting married to your FH are they????

Seriously though, a tulle ballgown is a dress that will never go out of style. Dressing like Cinderella will always be fashionable for a wedding.

Re: Am I going to be the only bride with a Tulle Ballgown?

My dress wasn't tulle, but a huge ballgown entirely made of lace, not too common when I rodered it, but became popular as the year went on. I never worried that it would look silly because I loved it and it was me, as I'm sure your dress is you.....

As long as you like it, don't worry, the person makes the dress, not the other way around.....and remember, it also makes you more original......

Here's my dress with the ballgown tulle...I wouldn't trade it for anything. You have to be comfortable and confident to carry it; which you are - all LIW girls are.
