It is not crazy BUT if something happends to the flight...bad weather etc you may not have a photographer...that would make me a little nervous!

Oooo thats a very good point and definitely something to consider. Would he fly in the day before or day of, then i would definitely give it alot of thought. Flights get delayed and cancelled all the time.

can i make a few suggestions that are similar to what youre looking for, bc i looked at the site and the pics are AMAZING i will say so i dont blame you for considering it but just in case you want to search more photographers in NYC

have you looked at Henry chan's work, go to his blog his pics are amazing. My friend used him. His site is henryshoots.com

also check out something in blue, their pics are very different and stand out, its somethinginblue.com. They are more pricey than henry chan though so you might want to look him up first, his price is listed on his site

Met with Henry, he comes close to like 6500 with an album so its a little high for someone I don't LOVE.

As far as SIB, they're on their Euro tour during my date.

I didn't realize Thomas Paul was in my range, so I guess I'll set up a meeting with him and hopefully it works out :)

is he really, hmmm guess his prices have changed. But i guess with the album comes out to that much though, i know normally he is under 5k. But most PJ photographers do have a price for everything but albums and then albums are separate

$700 is not that bad but I just looked at the web site at the photographer that you were looking at and I think you should look at this one. They are amazing and right on Long island. http://www.patkenphotographer.com/home.php
They do such amazing work and nothing is normal wedding pictures it is off the wall sexy anything you want they will do. And they have so many amazing photographers

for my budget, yes that would be a crazy thing to do... that $700 could pay for my invitations (or something else of that value, but i know everyones priorities are diff)... i personally wouldnt do it...i think before you make that decision, you really need to research more photogs around here... there are tons within the area... even ones in the tri-state area is prob a better decision than flying one in!

if you are looking into flying someone in.. check out Studio By Carmen. She is in Miami, and AWESOME. she has great pics on her blog and website.. and she is really nice too. not sure what her prices are like, but email her, she will fill you in, if you are interested. she does some really beautiful photojournalistic work.
