Am I on crack to be doing my epics a SECOND time?

I was talking to my sister last night and she looked at me like I had two heads when I told her I was doing my epics again. She thought I was out of my mind. She thinks I should forget about it and put the money somewhere else (although it was free in my package...she thinks I can substitute it).

here are my reasons for doing it-
for one, Duet wasn't my original photographer. I had always dreamed of them being my photographer, and I admired their epics for so long. My dream was to have them done at Central Park! Well, they weren't available when it was time to book, so I went with someone else. We took the epics, I was happy (not thrilled) with them...but they weren't in Central Park (he talked me out of it which I'm still kind of annoyed about). And to be honest- I hate FH's hair in those pics!

It's also a chance to get to know our photographer- and to get epics done right this time! The way I've always wanted them!

I think Duet's epics are incredible, and now that I was able to book them, I want to start all over again and get epics done the way I've always wanted!

So am I crazy? My sister's theory is that the pics you'll always be looking at are your wedding pics, the epics won't matter. But I'm not sure I agree- especially with the way Duet does them.

No, You are not crazy. Sounds like you have wanted to use Duet for a long time. You should do what your first instinct was because you don't want to regret not getting them done later on. You can use them for STD or place them in frames and display them at your RH. To me, It sounds like you are finally excited to be working with Duet & I don't think you should miss this chance to re-take them.

ok, I just saw your original e-pis & I think they are really great but if you have your heart set on something else, go for it.

I think it is really a matter of your personal preference...If you really think that it will be something you will regret doing later on, then go for it!! Life is too short!

I do think your sister has a valid point though, that epics seem more important now, but once you get your wedding pics you will be looking at those a lot more.

Honestly I would get them done with Duet - not so much because you want better epics, but moreso because you really want to work with your photog prior to your wedding day and see how you click etc. Basically you want to feel comfy on the day of your wedding and confident with your specific photographer.

Soooo I would do them. ESP if they're included in your package price! Good luck! I'm doing mine with Duet some time in May - in Central Park too!!!

I think your original e-pics are great, but having said that, it really seems that having them taken again by Duet is something you really want to do, so I would go for it! I'm sure you will both look fabulous in those ones too!!

I agree with your sister that your epics in the grand scheme of things are not really that important. However, what is important is to get to know your photographer before the wedding and make sure that you are comfortable with him. For that reason, I say get the epics done again.

not crazy at all.
If you have the $, and you're not happy with the first ones, who is to stop you?
You only get these once in your life....you don't want to be looking at them for the rest of your life resenting FH hair.

I would do it. I ended up not doing e-pics then thought about doing them later on and then it just didn't work out and it woudl be nice to have those types of pictures with DH. So my vote is do it. You'll have fun and you'll get great pictures.
