My DH has an annoying habit of calling me then putting me on the phone with random friends/family. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!!! I've told he a hundred times to stop doing it, yet just now he calls me from his mom's house and a family friend shows up and he he says 'Hey Uncle FX, Kelly wants to say hi' and hands him the phone. AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I'm sorry, but I don't always feel like making polite conversation. If I wanted to talk to the people he hands the phone to I'd ask or call them myself!!! I felt like hanging up the phone when he did that and just pretending we got disconnected.
Just need to vent, Kelly

Thats what I would do - get disconnected before he passes the phone....

yea thats annoying - I agree. But if you think about it - it doesnt take time to say a quick hello and this is a battle I myself prob. wouldnt pick. Just my opinion but dont get me wrong small talk at the wrong time can be inconvenient but theres nothing wrong with keeping in touch and saying hi. Afterall, life is so short and sometimes a quick hello from a friend or family member is nice.

It seems like friends/family is very important to ur DH and It would probably go a long way if you made a lil effort, saying HI to an uncle or friend might seem so dumb to you but think about it this way, when you get off the phone all DH is going to hear is 'wow, your wife is so nice' or 'we like her alot', I think that would mean alot to him, and just think of it as something nice you are doing for DH instead of something annoying he is doing to you...you will be better off in the long run, pick ur battles...

You DEFINITELY have a right to your feelings. Not everyone is good at small talk (I'm one of them) and it puts you in an awkward position. I'm sorry, just chalk it up to another things guy will never understand

That would probably annoy me as well. FH has done that to me a few time, not that many, but I can talk to a wall if I had to. I talk to everyone, so it does not really bother me when he does that. But if he did it as much as your husband does, and it bothered me as much as it bothered you, then I would probably get annoyed that he is not listening to me when I asked him to stop. Why don't you do it to him a couple of times and see if he likes it?
