Am I over reacting??

Am I over reacting??

Please don't quote!

First, I want to you girls for letting me vent, judgement free!!
AND thank you for reading this

As you all know, FMIL is a HUGE Thorn in our sides, and LOVES to stir the pot and kick up drama....

So, I am *almost* officially moved into our aprtment.....

Fh & I live in a two floor apartment, but it' a house from the 1800's, so the upstairs is really an attic that was converted into two bedrooms, and one bathroom.

Now , we also have a bathroom downstairs, FYI.
So yesterday the wicked witch stopped in our aprtment, (of course, while I WASN'T home)....

So FH is telling me this, and he casually throws in 'So don't be mad, but she asked to see our bedroom'...

So me, 'you're kidding me right??'???
He let her see it.

Here's the thing: She is VERY intrusive, and it's none of her damn business, nor her place to be IN MY BEDROOM, especially while I'm not there!!
I should have left a HUGE dildo on the bed

I think I'm more annoyed at the fact that I think it is rude that she even asked, ESPECIALLY because I know she is just trying to find something else to say!!!

GRRRR Ok VENT OVER. :
P.S- She has ALREADY seen the upstairs!!

I understand where you're coming from since she's such a PITA but is there any chance she really just wanted to see how you guys decorated and such?

FMIL only saw your bedroom??? Not the other bedroom or bathroom? I dont think I would be too happy about that either.

UGH! I'm in a sort of similar situation - my FMIL wanted to see our bedroom while I wasn't home, but FH let her peek for 2 seconds.

Some people don't have boundaries!

Lmao I am the same way and have the same problems with my FMIL....

I told FH that I will not be around her if she has a few drinks at any time.

i know where your coming from, you know that my fmil is the same way.

i've learned to pick my battles with her and i try not to sweat the small stuff. my fmil like yours, just does this stuff to make us mad bc they know it hits a nerve.

I'd be annoyed too. I think some people have a weird 'thing' about wanting to see bedrooms. It can definitely feel like an invasion of privacy, it's a very personal space. Maybe tell your FH next time to tell her no if you're not home. If she's seen the space before she really shouldn't need to see it again, especially if you're not around to say if it's ok or not.
