Maybe a little bit. The next most important are the photographers and videographers. Then music, maybe some hair/makeup trials. One thing I have learned from this website is that LI girls like to do things way in advance!

Hey venue twin! I am getting married in the beginning of March and am only just now starting to get into really trying to plan this wedding. So, don't worry--there is hope for us yet! LOL
So far, I have booked the venue, DJ, and photographer. I feel like the other major checks to start working on are my dress and the BM dresses. Then the video, flowers, tuxes, and limo. Everything else, to me, are smaller checks and can be done a little later.

If anything I would say to deff book DJ/Band and photographer/videographer before the end of the summer.

thank you ladies!!! I am just a little worried bc I am currently looking for a job :( and unfortunately plans had to change! I am currently seeking for an affordable yet good quality photographer so if you know any, let me know!

Definitely at least book your photo video and officiant. All 3 of those were booked halfway into 2014 when we booked them in Oct of 2012!

This! I was taking my time with all my major vendors trying to space it out, and meanwhile the videographer I wanted was booked! I was like wait.. what? lol and I am getting married 5 months after you. So I would def do those asap.

Park Avenue Studio has a full day coverage package for a little under $1,500 and Brian the owner is awesome.. I would definitely check them out

I would defiantly say dj and photographer. Both mine came in under budget. Check them out timexposures and fm entertainment. If you want any quotes just fm me!

Im getting married in March as well. and I am also taking my time.. I have RH, D.J. and looking into Limos right now. i am also waiting on Photo quotes.. and I have my dress. But you are not alone :)

yes I would say photo/video and church/officiant. Also maybe flowers?
Think of the vendors that can only do one wedding a day and go from there.

yeah LI girls LOVE to do everything way in advance but i think it has to do with the fact that weddings in LI are so much more over the top than anywhere else that you really HAVE TO do things way in advance in order to get the vendors you want. Definitely do photo/video next, then do your limos and dj. At least that's the order we did it in and had no problems getting the vendors we wanted.

Since you are well under a year, I would definitely start looking at other things. I wouldn't say that you're behind, but if you had specific vendors in mind you may have difficulty booking them. Best of luck to you!
