Am I suppose to invite. . . . ?
Original post by tiffandmatt
My best friend in a BM in my wedding. I am wondering if I am suppose to invite her parents? I know them very well, I've been to there house a hundred times, and they often invite me over for family b-day parties and things like that, (same with her grandparents). I will be inviting my bestfriends sister and her DH, since we are friends and she invited me to her wedding a few years ago. But am I required to invite parents of a friend or even her grandparents? What do you suggest? It would save money to not have 4 extra people to invite, but would it be rude considering I know them so well to not invite them?

We are inviting two sets of FH friends parents. We see them for holidays, they went out to Fortunoff and got us stuff on our registry. We thought it would be rude if they weren't invited. Just our opinion.

I am inviting my best friends parents. I have known them my whole life!

I say yes, you should invite them. From the way you describe it, it sounds like they are sort of 'family' to you. They invite you over, you celebrate different events with them...etc. I think it would be a nice gesture

I've heard that you should invite the bridal parties parents. We didn't, however, because we don't know them at all. But if we did I would invite them.

i am having a very small wedding but i am inviting my 2 BM (who are my BFF's) mom's they have been there for me all the time and i love them. i voted it depends b/c for instance my FH's BM's parents are not invited b/c they werent as close. i say invite people who support you and your FH, people who you will still be interested in knowing 10 years from now.

One of my BMs was my closes friend in HS. I was at her house non stop and her parents treated me like their own. I'm invited her and both her parents, but not her sibblings. Although I was close with all of them, (there are three) I'm not so close with any of them any more.
Re: Am I suppose to invite. . . . ?
I invited my moh's parents and sister because I am close with them, but that was it as far as friends parents go. We found out afterward, that on of DH's GM's moms was very insulted she was not invited. We felt bad, but he hadn't seen her in years since he was younger and we really never thought of it. It sounds like you are semi close with them, so if i were you, I would invite them since you are inviting the sister too. JMO.

I voted yes, since they invite you over and include you in family occasions. I would just invite the parents.
