Re: Am I the only bride who..
No you are not. My ceremony is at 3:30pm and my future hubby and I are both getting ready from our parents homes and will not see each other until I walk down the aisle
So we will not have pics together until then. I would not have it any other way. I guess thats not the 'night time' you were looking for but maybe that makes you feel better

We pushed our ceremony up to 2pm so that we might get some pics at dusk

It'll be dark for us too - the church is at 5:15 in December. We're going to still try to take some pics outside the church and outside on the grounds of Westbury Manor. (until I remember that its COLD in December, and I don't like the cold.)

Re: Am I the only bride who..
I'll be getting married at like 6 but wont see my 'husband' till the ceremony, so no before pics..so i will have to squeeze in as many pics after the ceremony as i can...so i feel your pain. But honestly seeing my fiancees reaction as i walk down the aisle will be worth more than any pic they could take of us during the day.

We did our pictures before to 'get our money's worth' out of our photos and honestly walking down the aisle was still and incredible moment. Very emotional even though we had seen each other.

Re: Am I the only bride who..
I think if you and your FHs have made the decision to not see each other until the ceremony, that's great. But I do want to let you know, that I don't feel anything was taken away from my day or my ceremony by seeing DH first. There are many girls on the Newlywed Board who have done the same thing. Now I'm not trying to convince you to do anything you don't feel right about, but I want to give you some of the upsides of seeing each other before hand. First of all, you and FH can still have a private moment when you see each other for the first time, we did. And I feel like that moment was even more precious to me because we weren't in front of an audience. It was just him and I and the photographers. Second of all, your wedding goes by really fast and seeing FH before the ceremony just adds length to the time you get to spend together. I was with DH from noon on and it was wonderful. Third of all, it really does calm some of your nerves to see DH before the ceremony. Don't get me wrong, I was still nervous to walk down the aisle, but I know that seeng him first was the only reason I got through the ceremony without being hysterical the whole time. Last but not least is the point you already brought up, we were ale to take all of our photos with natural light and I think I would have really regretted not having those shots. We took beautiful pictures on the beach and at Planting Fields and it just wouldn't have been the same if you couldn't see all the gorgeous backdrops. Now you and your FHs have to make whatever decision you're most comfortable with, I just wanted you to know what it was like from the other end.

my sister is getting married at 5pm in the middle of february. her FH likes the idea of not seeing each other before the wedding so she'll only have night time pics too.. which look so romantic in the shadows and everything.

Don't feel badly about no daytime pics. The pictures inside the Westbury Manor will be so beautiful. You never know, if you had planned daytime pix it could be raining and you wouldn't be able to have them anyway. Personally I love the idea of walking down the aisle when he hasn't seen you yet. That's my plan too.

Re: Am I the only bride who..
Our ceremony begins at 4:00 and Sunset that day is 4:27. We are not seeing eachother beforhand. We might get a few sunset shots in, but not counting on it. We're taking photos inside the mansions at Old Westbury Gardens. We took engagement pics outside in the Gardens a few weeks ago so that could be an option for you for some casual daytime photos.
Just got my proofs last night and they are amazing!!! We are so so so happy with our photographer.

I am also getting married at 3:30 and the time the church mass is over it will be 4:30ish and it will be night time as well. I am taking my pictures inside of the Crest Hollow, which is beautiful inside! It won't be bad, just think of how beautiful the hall is and how great your pic. will come out I know mine will. One good thing is our hair won't need to be fixed every two mintues from being wind blown!

Honey don't worry. Duet is doing your photography, right? They are going to take such fabulous pictures that it won't matter. My wedding is during the day and I WISH it was at night. But I did a day wedding to keep costs down.

I'm getting married at 3pm on a Saturday in February. By the time we're done at church it'll be dark out. I'm a little disappointed but I think it'll be okay.

Re: Am I the only bride who..
I'm most likely going to have a lte ceremony, so no daytime pics. I think nighttime is romantic, and often in the wnter moths, palces ahve all kinds of beautiful holiday lights which will be SO romantic, and if you cna get some pictures while the sun is setting or at twilight, the colors will be so beautiful, Maybe your photographer cna also incorporate the moon and stars in some of your photosWelcome New Vendors
